Just got off the face off and it looks like an "off the go pedal" for some reason or the other.
That Chevelle scoots, but I know that bird has much more flap in its feathers.

Don's car was very strong all weekend. Must have done a lot of work over the winter.

Dave red lite in the final but is was not going to be a walk in the park either way.

I've discovered some neat tricks to that Chevelle, but yes, he must have done some tweaking while the flakes were falling.

It's a good competition drive now for sure. Drawing boards are going to be lit up this year.

I heard from some one that was there that Dave went the usual 9's (I guess in qualifying) but why higher low 10's on that run against the Chevelle?
Did Dave just want to save the effort for another day?

I'm bummed I couldn't make it.

NHRA requires a full cage at 9.99 or 135 mph. Sooner or later the fast cars in this class are going to have to run the same safety stuff as everyone else. Just depends on how the particular track enforces it.

it's amazing these guys are going that fast, at those speeds, on those tires. has to be a hairy ride at 130+ on those 7 inch tires. really shocked there hasn't been a crash yet. thank god.

The tires are not a safety issue whatsoever. The stock tires are safer than slicks. If you get out of shape, they don't roll over and grab, so you can drive out of it.

How can a tire not rated to go fast on be safer than one that is? Guess I don't understand that.
