Not to downplay the Superformance, the Interface Solutions MP-15 material is a good quality material to use. I'v seen most of the different stuff out there, BLP used to have a green gasket that worked extremely well, but the material was not available to them anymore, then went to a coated MP-15. Quick Fuel used the same MP-15 for a while, but switched to a Reinz material before being taken over by Holley, they only have the blue gaskets at the moment. The blue from Holley are OK, with a little something to help with sticking. BLP is now having their gaskets made with the Reinz material and it seems to be similar to the Interface MP15. There are also some red and blue gaskets out there that are complete junk, usually the ebay sellers trying to pawn the cheep stuff.

But my favorite gasket out there is the Braswell, it is also and Interface Solutions material but different than the MP15, softer but still durable, and a graphite coating that works well with any fuel and never an issue with sticking. The price shows, but for anything that may be tuned a lot it's a great choice.

Have YOU tried Superformance cos BLP's material is NOT the same as I have some here and if that's the case why did BLP call Greg asking about making them base gaskets for the BX4 which I recommended.............

Careful, Mark. This is Moparts and if you don't say Superperformance you risk being blacklisted. rolleyes

Is there any kind of magic non-stick spray or something that
the Holley gaskets can be coated with ?
Somebody here mentioned Silicone.
Something like Pam, frying pan spray ?
I thought about engine assembly moly, very thin coating.

The gaskets I was getting from Quick Fuel are the same MP-15 material and worked fine, still like the Braswell best, but for most the new Reinz material or the MP-15 is fine.

If you already have a bunch of Holley blue gaskets to use, I normally coat them with chap stick. It's not effected by gasoline, and everything comes apart real nice and easy. Must be reapplied after every disassembly. Cherry is my favorite, but that's just my opinion.

Regarding my silicone comment. In 1976, all you had was cork. Then the horrible brown paper. Those always delaminated, until soaked with silicone, then they were reusable for a few times. The blue gskts suck until a silicone spray.

It's nice to see people who can appreciate quality and attention to detail even when it comes down to "it's just a gasket". It makes my extra effort in material selection, press set up time, upkeep of the dies and 100% product inspection all worth wile.

I have been in the automotive aftermarket industry 29 years and around it my entire life. I've seen, bought and used junk, decent stuff and some really good stuff. When I started Superformance Products 10 years ago this month (Thank You All For The Support!) I wanted to make the "really good stuff". When I launched this endeavor to my knowledge nobody was using the materials that I was pioneering. With success in that department it don't take long for the copy cats to show up.

That being said, you can copy the material all you want but you don't get the quality and attention to detail it takes to be the "really good stuff".

Without getting into the nitty gritty details about variants of MP-15 or some other materials that may or may not be proven to work with all fuels here is something for your viewing pleasure.

They say pictures are worth a 1,000 words............

I won't name brands so this is,

Again nothing wrong with the others, this is the best material I've found. Price limits it to high end billets or methanol, the others perform well enough that it's not an issue most of the time.
