Be interesting to know what they did. The second generation of those heads was a step backwards IMO.

Did you order the standard port or the MW version? IMO they shouldn't even offer them in a standard port. The port geometry isn't right until the entry is close to Max Wedge size. J.Rob

I guess I look at it differently.
Not every head needs to be designed for the customer who wants to build enough power so that a stock block isn't a good option.
I felt the first gen of the bb victor was a decent head. Flowed 330-ish right ootb with a std port window. A little work on the seats and chambers, a little blending, and they were in the 340 range, with minimal work, and still std port window. An easy 650-700hp head for those who wanted something other than an Indy head, or a "ported too much" rpm head.
The second gen got the bowls filled in a bunch, and the chambers pulled in closer to the valves. Probably great if you have a CNC machine and want to come up with some vastly different bowl shape, but for the guy who just wanted to do a little clean up and have some decent heads.......for those people...... It was a step in the wrong direction.
They went from a head I could recommend, to one I couldn't........ Unless they were getting seriously reworked.
If I were looking to create a product to sell, I'd also try and come up with something that would have good mass appeal. So, building something that has decent compatibility with what potential customers already have makes sense to me.
No one will argue that B1 heads will make way more power than Trick Flow heads........ But I bet there were way way way more TF Mopar heads sold last year than B1's.
Victors? My guess is somewhere in the middle for units sold.

So is the speedmaster/procomp victor rip off a copy of the first or second gen? They are basically like the first gen.

Brad, I don't recall....... Did I try just cutting the seats and blending the bowls on your PC test head?
Admittedly, I haven't had piles of bb mopar victor heads roll through my shop, but your sencond gen std port victors were by far the worst of them ootb....... On a few different levels.
IMO, those really shouldn't have made it past Edelbrock QC.

I like my Victors. They were the 77929? Standard port heads that were taken out to MW ports. I had mine ported but kept the std opening

I'd have to go digging around to find the #s for the various stages of work done to that head. IIRC, a good valve seat with back-cut intake valve was still only around 315. The short turn has a lot of extra material that needs reworking to bring it inline with a 1st generation head. I dug through my notes on your heads...... Your 2nd gen head, after the Hughes CNC chamber porting and IMM VJ, it looks like 309cfm @.700. The PC head, which as I recall also had an IMM VJ, was 306 @.700 with no porting at all. Same port(#7), with my notes saying "big bowl port + clean up port opening" was 338 @.700. From a test done in Jan 09, a 1st gen std port head was flowing 330 @.700 ootb. Within a few days of that test I had one of the early MW versions here...... 336 @.700 ootb.

Gen 1 vs Gen 2, both ootb, Ede valves, #1 cyl, 4.375 bore, same radius plate for both:
Lift------1/2 .100---69.6/71.6 .200--143.8/135.9 .300--194.3/196.4 .400--247.7/246.8 .500--291.8/289.8 .550--311.0/306.7 .600--316.8/293.5 .650--324.5/301.0 .700--330.2/314.0
The Gen 2 numbers are from a 3rd head Brad had, which was brand new, and didnt have all the (severely)shrunken bowl/core shift issues that the set I ported for him had. This was actually a decent looking head. The bowls on the Gen 2 heads are just smaller than the first Gen heads, which seems to cause some turbulence issues at high lifts in ootb form, hence the big drop off after .550 lift.
Numbers from the gen 2 set with the really small bowls, after the IMM VJ and Hughes CNC chamber porting, but prior to any porting in the port, no back cut on valve:
Also #1 cyl: Lift-------flow .100--- 67.8 .200-- 142.0 .300-- 210.3 .400-- 263.6 .500-- 306.6 .550-- 316.0 .600-- 308.5 .650-- 316.0 .700-- 321.6
