I am in the process of wiring and mounting everything in the door way. I glued 2 pieces of carbon together.

Just curious, how much heat do the cd style ignition boxes out of in the interior?

I only have one set of pictures from different projects. I like to mount the electronics on lexan because it doesn't conduct.
69 Road Runner - Mounted on lexan and attached to the firewall with a piano hinge. It swings upward under the dash and locks out of sight. Easy to work on.
64 Plymouth Belvedere - I have two channels mounted on the inside seat mounts under the Kirky seat. The lexan slides out to access the electrics. Easy to work on.
63 Plymouth - Lexan mounted on two drawer slides in the glove box. It too is easy to access.

What thickness lexan is good for this? Is 1/8" too flimsy?

I use 1/4 because all the panels I've done are movable but 1/8 would be just fine on a fixed installation. It also depends on the total weight of all the devices you are going to mount and any possible effects of the panel/weight on acceleration and braking.

OK, so I got my electronics board made and installed it in the car. Used several ideas I found here (thanks yall!) and on the YB thread and came up w/ something I'm real happy with.

I used a 16" square piece of 1/4" thick lexan. 2 small hinges bolted to the firewall allow it to swing down from under the dash to allow access to everything.
I have one dzus fastener that fastens it to the bottom edge of the dash frame. The electronics are mounted on top, so when it's up in place, nothing is visible from inside the car...unless you open the glove box.

When funds allow, I want to upgrade to a MSD programmable 6AL-2 box...that one box will replace the 3 I use now (the 6AL, 2 step, and 3 stage retard). Eventually I'll go to a Leash nitrous progressive. What I have now is very old school, but it works (just somewhat limited as far as tuning).

I only have this one pic...before I installed it under the dash. I'll get some more when I get a chance to work on it again.
Thanks again for all the ideas and help. beer

Hey john
I would like to see more of your car, please sir.
Sorry not trying to Hijack this thread, just intrigued by anything GTX or Road Runner related.

I hope your magnet idea works better than mine did. Every time we dropped the clutch on the line or hit a gear, it would invariably pop open. We tried using the switch like on the 68 glove boxes and it did not work either. We ended up putting a dzus fastener there, the kind that has the wing and twist.
love your GTX though. I like anything stick shift.

Got the board in and hooked up. It did crank up so I must have done OK, lol. Still need to tie up some stuff to make it look neater, but it's a big improvement over what was there before.
It looked a lot neater when I had it prewired on the table. biggrin

The view looking in from the glovebox. Can't really access anything like this due to the narrow cuda glovebox door. It is really easy to lower down...used one wingnut style Dzus fastener to hold it up to the lower edge of the dash frame,
