It really depends on the application but if you put ANY power in front of a cone along with some good tires under the car for traction, they will not last! Period!

I spent well over $1300 with Mancini Racing and ordered a brand new 742 Case 8 3/4 3rd member with Auburn cone and 3.55 gears.

The sure grip lasted less than 2000 miles in my '63 before it $hit the bed.

I used a clutch type sure-grip behind a mild 440 in a 'Cuda and never had a single issue.

I finally ended up going to a spool in a Dana 60 in my '63 for strength and reliability.
