Even if rubber bumpers werent available in black, the car is wearing them, thats why i said it. The car is a V code N96 4 speed TX9. Ive never honestly looked closely enough at the codes on the tags to say if the bumpers options were on there. You'll want to see A21 for just the front and A22 for front and rear. These are combination group options so they always appear on the tag. If the codes aren't there then the car didn't have them.

Technically black was not on the availability "list" when ordering these cars, but I've seen a number of original TX9 70-71 Cudas with front, front/rear black "factory" installed bumpers over the decades, as well as a handful of other E's with elastromeric bumpers in non available colors, I'm sure there's also Dealer done cars as well
I've seen 'Cudas with Cragars too, but that too is moot. Anyway, when someone says, "2 fender tag car, V code N96 4 speed, triple black, rubber bumpers, you name it," it's easy to infer he thinks the car is correct with those bumpers. Car looks nice, but certainly there's more to the story for inquiring minds. I did have a 70 cuda 383 that was FJ5 and had front and rear rubber bumpers. That was supposedly not available, but I'm pretty sure they were original to the car. LA built so no broadcast sheet

I really would like to see some real Chrysler Paperwork stating how many cars were actually made in all engine combos. Who comes up with these supposed totals on all these Hemi and Six pack cars. All that is publicly available are the SG30 reports. That is the source where these claims come from. I agree with you. There were more cars built then the hobby understands. I wish we had more documents from the final computed amount that the factory actually built, not just shipped.

That particular TX9 BS27V1B D21, does have A22 on the Date Plates. Although, seeing the A22 for TX9 is interestingly odd Had beaucoup family work at both Hamtramck, and Lynch Road... Going WAY back... I heard the stories... Anyone who believes in 'can't', or 'couldn't' with regards to these cars, and their creation, is mistaken...

In the parts book under 13-64- _ _ front bumper and 13-66-_ _ rear bumper it does not show black as a rubber bumper color in 1971.The parts book I am looking at is revised April 1972. Now, did some make it out in early 1971, who knows. Lot of odd ball stuff was built back then, I own an odd ball E Body the way it was built with and without options.
