Hey guys, as some of you may have read, I decided to pull the trigger on a 'budget' procharged/W2 340 build (if that makes any sense).
Anyway, I got around to mocking up the blower with an SDCE bracket I purchased and I ran into a little problem. I had to cut quite a bit out of the inner fender well to clear the blower. Not a big deal at all as I plan to box it back up giving me the clearance I need without sacrificing structure.
I am just wondering if anyone else has this bracket for an E body and can confirm that this is needed? I find it hard to believe they would have designed it like that when it could have just been angled in a slight bit more and would have cleared everything just fine. I tried contacting SDCE but haven't been able to get in touch with anyone there.
I'll post some pics a little later to better show what I am talking about.
Thanks!

Without a pic it would be hard to say. You do realize that the compressor housing can be clocked 360 degrees in any direction in relation to the gearbox, correct?

trendz and 80arrow, I clocked the scroll close to where I think I want it, but it's the round part of the scroll that I am having problems with clearing and that won't change no matter where I rotate it. I swapped the position of oil slinger gear inside the blower so that it is at 6 o clock and clocked the drain plug/fill/dipstick so that won't be a problem.I am aiming the outlet straight down as I am going to be running piping to a front mounted intercooler.
It's hard to see in the pics, but the blower sits way far off the valve cover, it could certainly get a lot closer and still have room for a filter off the intake of the blower. It sits pretty deep into the fender well (you can see where I cut out a large chunk of the fender well).
Crizila, that doesn't look like the same bracket I have. Yours is SDCE? I believe when I contacted SDCE some time back about a bracket, they told me that they had different brackets for different hp levels, so I am wondering if this is one of the lower hp level brackets with it just having a support bracket that runs from the head to the back of the aluminum bracket and no second aluminum bracket running up the back like yours has.

Could you redrill the 3 bolts that look like they go into the head and slide everything closer to the motor? I'll try to find an old pic of my SDCE bracket.

Here is a pic of the kit I bought from Procharger. Blower is a D-1SC. Yes, the mount looks different.

Ugh, looks like I am really going to have to get in touch with SDCE. None of the brackets above look the same, and none of them look like mine lol. I think I have one picture I found on my comp of what was supposedly an SDCE kit on a s/b mopar that looked very similar to my bracket, I'll have to find it.
Honestly, the fender well clearance isn't a huge deal. I was just going to plate it around the blower to give me the room. I am more worried now that if this ends up not being an sdce bracket, will the SDCE crank spacer/pulley work correctly or will I have to end up shimming the bracket, and will I run into belt length issues.
I was hoping I could just pick up an SD crank spacer and crank pulley, use whatever belt length they specify and call it a day but it looks like this may end up being more work.
On the bright side, with the bracket sitting where it does, it seems like I should have enough room to run the intercooler piping exactly where I want. inside the engine bay along the frame rail.

I'm pretty sure the one Crizilla has is a sbc procharger bracket that the Supercharger Store modifies. I bought my kit used from SDCE and their support after the sale sucks. Maybe get a 1/2" plate of aluminum and redrill all the mounting hole and possibly turn the procharger more like the way mine was.? Or just get a mounting kit from the supercharger store, seems like there's more parts available for his set-up. It all takes trial and error to get everything to line up. Lots of head scratching, at least for me. And its a lot harder if you're piecing it together and have no instructions for the first timer. being $400 into it, I think I am going to try to make it work. I only need to box in an inch and a half or so into the fender well, so that's no big deal. I don't like the idea of having the blower sit that far out because there is more potential for belt flex, but I am pretty sure I could weld up some good supports for it...and I have seen procharger brackets that were worse. Now the question is, will it line up with everything if I pick up an SDCE crank pulley and spacer, or will I have to shim the bracket. I am still not convinced it's NOT an E body bracket from SDCE (I mean if it's not, then what in the world is it? haha) but maybe one of their earlier runs that didn't fit as well? If I could get in touch with anyone there, maybe I could find out. PS, I really wanted to go with a supercharger store bracket but I was quoted at $1300 for just the bracket. pulleys and crank spacer. Normally I'd say it is probably worth the trouble, but I am on a tight budget with this project and I think I could make this all work for half of that cost.

Wasn't thrilled about the sbc to Chrysler adaptor set up, but it was a bolt-in. Everything lined up.

I installed one of their P600b procharger kits in the early 2000's (03 or 04 I think)
I didn't have to cut anything. It didn't have the spring tensioner setup as it wasn't invented yet. LOL
