Looks like the announcement for Plymouth was 8/21/70 for the return of Lemon twist. All the color brochures etc. for the beginning of the model were printed without showing FY1 , so people were pretty much unaware it could be ordered unless the dealer told them specifically .
I had always thought they dropped GB7 when they added FY1 back in ,
but it looks like GB7 was dropped on 11/9/70.
And since it was mentioned above ..GY4 Honey Dew was added on 3/16/71 .

Thanks for the posts you guys provided. I now have a new found appreciation by the numbers for GY3 and for FY1. I'm grateful for the statistics.

Some of this stuff has been floating around for years, but generally you have to buy it from Galen Govier. His stuff covers all available options for US-spec cars, so if you have a Canadian or Export car, it would not be included in the tallies.

Anyway, FC7 was a popular color for the R/T hardtop: 213 built for the US. EF8 and EB5 are similarly popular, with FK5 being the most popular.

FC7 was the second most popular '70 Coronet R/T color behind FK5

~213 of the 2,155 US spec. '70 Coronet R/Ts were "plum crazy" (9.9%)

True - the number is approximate, give or take.

Never seen a RR in that color! And I prefer it over EB3.

But what may be rare for a RR may be much more popular for non-performance cars. twocents

High Impact Paint (HIP) was a $15.05 option. Their names were as colorful as the paints

Finally, as an after-thought, I dug up a list of the 9 paint names that were "allegedly" rejected by Chrysler executives. These are legendary or maybe infamous:

Catch me Copper
Unforeseeable Fuchsia
Statutory Grape
Gang Green
Well Read
Cost of Living Rose
Fisher Body Rust
Hi-Ho Silver
Frank Loyd White

cheers!

Hemi Orange is Dodge's name, Tor Red is Plymouth's.
