Same here nine years of using the stop and never broke a cable or had any problems. I did notice however that stop settings ( i e turns) are a lot more sensitive on my 950 than they were on my 750. Slowing down seven to eight tenths on average ( 10.70s to 11.50 )

A lot of guys on the west coast use the ET Genie as it has been around for awhile or the Dedenbear mechanical disc stops. I see more of the disc stuff on faster cars running in classes like B/Gas and ET Genie on slower cars.

To me if you have a cable throttle cable you will need a stop for your gas pedal as it is only a matter of time before the cable breaks. I agree the stop should be before the cable. As for launching in 2nd gear. I can see a torquey big block only slowing down a couple tenths at best.
