Now that you mention Mancini, I believe it was an MRE roller chain set that chewed up my oil slinger.
If the chain touched the slinger then the slinger was installed backward...

I forgot the one in my 440 and drove it for a year with no problems... didn't even know it til I found it in a box with old parts. Like mentioned, if you got one, put it in... but wouldn't tear a motor apart to put it in.
