Comp guy is trying to talk me into these rather than the 829-16's with the Needle bearings. Is anyone using these ? Are they worth the extra $200? Race only application.

I've seen them and they are nice. I got a set but sent them back since they didn't have pushrod oiling. The catalog says they pushrod oil and the sales guy told me they did but it only took about 5 seconds of looking at them to see that they don't.

Andy,I do not need pushrod oiling as I have Spray bars on my -13 heads but am wondering if they are worth the price over the 829's. They say they are lighter have extra holes in the body for better oiling to the wheel/axel and last longer as the body itself is made of better steel. I am also wondering if the better oiling will cause a drop in oil pressure. They quoted my a much better price then even Jeg's sells them for also!

If you can get them for only a couple hundred more than 829's, get em.
They are normally almost twice the cost .

I just can't figure why a lifter with a bushing costs more than one with a roller !!!

Earlier this year a local racer bought the Comp Sportsman lifters with the needle bearings for his Mopar BB (#96829-16). The attached picture shows some of the lightening Comp did. They do have the pressure fed (EDM) oiling of the roller axles. And also some measurements of the oil band. Also he measured the wheel dia as 0.80"

I didn't notice if they had holes for pushrod oiling since he wasn't oiling that way. But I thought they did.

They do make these "Sportsman" lifters in either the needle bearing/wheel or the Bronze bushing/wheel. Supposed to be an upgrade over the standard 829's. Any info if the local racer had any feedback on these?
I'm also wondering if the push rod length would have to change to use these?

I have a couple of customers running them in unbushed stock blocks with no issues, although I haven't put them in a motor myself(although I would).

The pushrod seat height spec is the same as the 829's.
