I knocked a couple of the cam bearings out and measured the diameter of bore in the block. So far they are smaller then spec as many have already suggested and also what I believed in my gut...

I may attempt to increase the bore diameter with a hone. Looks like there is currently another post here on Moparts regarding this very thing.

My first thought looking at that rod and bearing cap is either a non-c bearing was used or if it was then somehow someone mixed up, the upper and lower halves.

My 440 had the same exact knock. After removing the engine and placing on the stand, it turned out to be loose crank pulley bolts. Bearings all looked new. Can't believe I removed the engine and went through all of that for stupid loose bolts on the crank pulley, but no one to blame but myself.
