Basically you will have to mock it up to see where
the headers fit best.. both the side to side and the
up and down locations.. along with fore and aft.. of
course if you are using those headers
EDIT
looking at the mid plate location it was in there
in a stock location fore and aft
I just seen that was a BB and your going SM.. still
mock it up... I think they were 1 3/8" to the pass
side for center line

Mike I would be using these hooker super comps and that big pan I Would think the pan would've been set up for stock location

I edited my post above
EDIT
I would move it rearward just so the dist clears and
move it up some so it will transfer the weight easy

True I would put trans cross member in and with trans and motor together get. Some measurements because both mid plate and motor plate need trimmed

If that is an A-body car then you can buy an A-body motorplate and drop it on the frame rails. That should work if you use the stock transmission mount and cross member.

might sound dumb, but I would find a stock 67-76 A body with a 273, 318, 340, or 360, and start measuring.

Then parts that are designed to fit the car, might have a chance of fitting your car.

thats what I did when I fitted my motor plate.

Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

Yes I got that half its the up and down
I think I'll put the pan on plus install center link
And center it and go from there I think it's the most crucial ???

The way to do it is get the engine/trans pointed
right at the pinion then roll the pinion down
for for the pinion angle

I'm sure I have to cut out the front tabs because the length of of the big block The back tab should be the same so those will work for me Mike I remember you telling me do not screw with the starter remove that out of the equation

Yep.. cut the mid plate out around the starter
so it mounts directly on the trans

very important on a motor plate mid plate setup how to use a engine limiter.. mine is off the trans.. if I remember I will snap a few pictures tomorrow.. or maybe someone can post a picture of theirs.. you may already have a provision welded to the frame somewhere
