i was screwing mine to the rims...but now i am gluing them with the Loctite glue
The best advice i can give you is , keep your car OFF the wheelie bars, The radials will go into massive tire shake if you get on the bars too fast too hard...

A lot of the drag radial guys are using bead locks because they have torn the beads up with rim screws, the tire is spinning on the rim. I've seen pics posted and it's scary looking. Also they stiffen the side wall of the tire. Plus they are cool lookin'. Steve

Tony, I am going to start with the bars on the car but at Milan's heads up deal they are a no-go. So I have to learn to control the wheelstand anyway. So you think the beadlocks are a good idea? LOVE you're car, especially the bench seat! Thanks, Bob

the beadlocks are a good idea.....but not 100% sure that they are necassary, If you go on Yellowbullet, there are alot of Radial guys that have been in the 7's with tires just glued on, No screws or beadlocks. Honestly though id say the beadlocks are the safest, strongest way of retaining the tire on the rim. I will never use screws again, i was marking my tires and rim the last couple sets to make sure the tire wasnt spinning on the rim tearing it up with the screws. You will notice that the beads on the Hoosiers are wierd looking and not that big compared to a slick, THe MT's have a bead just like the MT slicks do. Mine have been glued for two sets now, and they moved about 1 inch every pass and then seem to stop. If you can afford it yea the beadlocks are the way to go. If your using nitrous (im pretty sure your going to run only motor?) or even motor, get a progressive or digital ignition. That along with a good front shock like an Afco or similar double adj and good adj limiters on the front will help a lot with the wheelstands. Also i have noticed, lowering or raising the car with the torsion bars adjusters, will give you a tighter or softer spring rate up front, that will also help with controlling the wheelstands. If all else fails put your bars real high and work on keeping them off the ground, THEN take them off Good luck, you will love these tires im sure SO far the best things that have kept my front end down is a progressive on the second stage. I dont have a digital ignition i run a 7al2 Limting the front travel to 2" and tightening the front shocks as much as the track conditions will let you

Tony, The car will have a 500" PS Hemi in it. All motor. I have a tube K with a rack and Strange coil-overs. Digital 7 ignition. I will work with shock adjusments, spring rates and limiters to control the wheelstands. I WON'T take the bars off until its under control! OT but do you like the Hoosiers or the MTs? Pm me if you want. Bob

funny thing is i have made my fastest passes on BOTH....i have been the exact same best et on the MT and the Hoosiers..If i had to choose, id say the Hoosiers are better only in that they are more like a slick, they are not as finicky to track conditions as the MT are. The Hoosiers are a little lighter too.
If you have a coilover front end, think about getting a couple sets of springs, Im sure you know , but dont forget a heavier spring up front will slow the transfer, and the wheelies. Im sure youll have no problem between the digital 7 and the nice front end your going to have. Youll be surpised at just how tight you can get the shocks and how little travel you really need up front. I was amazed at how much better the car ran when i kept the bars from ever hitting the ground.
