I like the Jones brand mufflers that Summit sells. They have that old school sound yet can "bark" when at sudden W.O.T.

This is a fact.^

While mufflers brands AND models within a brand have a the most influence on sound. Other factors will change sound too. Two 5L Mustangs both with Flowmasters but 1 with long tube headers and 1 with short sound very different. Another example is a .484" MP cammed 383 Dart with TTI 1 3/4 headers. Open headers not very loud. Swapped to 509 cam, raised compression and bigger heads. With 3" exhaust into 40 series Flowmasters dumped before the axle. It was THE LOUDEST car Ive ever heard through muffs.

FWIW...the Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers sound good, but are VERY restrictive. We've had 3 different pairs of mufflers on my dad's 440-6 road runner. Started off w/ Dynomax UltraFlows...sounded great, but were a lil too loud for him, so I swapped them out for some Super Turbos. He loved the sound, but you could definitely feel the car did not have the power it did before. He eventually got tired of that and I put a pair of Hooker Aerochamber mufflers on it for him. They are the best of both worlds in my opinion. Definitely feels like it got the power back, louder than the Super Turbo mufflers, but not as loud as the UltraFlows. He's happy!
