If you tow car cant handle the load don't tow with the car on backwards !! How close were they to losing this car ? would have changed the entire coarse of my life. My Friend Jim Flagg bought it with a Hemi, 2.76 8 3/4, a Monoco power bench seat and chrome axle, K-Frame tie rods etc. The Hemi went in his Road Runner street car. We built a Max Wedge and a cage for it in the winter of 1989. Had over 1500 passes in it. Won a couple of points series in it. Sold it in the early 2000's. Dizuster cut his teeth in it as a hired gun shortly out of high school for the new owner. Unfortunately the owner was murdered. Car went to his step sister and was sold to someone in Pennsylvania. I've never seen it again. Doug

The no header rule change came around 1975. You're right...didn't realize that was "A/S". Wasn't Stock really PURE Stock back then??? That would explain the lack of slicks. A Stock Hemi, no headers, on bias street times WITH A 4 SPEED had to be hard to get that down the track. Also had to be FFFFFFF-FUN to drive!

So if you came up against a B/S whose record was 12.00 you spotted them the difference. My best as an A/S was mid 12's. Later with slicks, headers, etc I got deep in the 11's running A/SS on a 10 something record. Old El Paso was not a record setting strip.
