I look at it this way, how often do you change the oil in your hotrod? Most of us it's once a year so what's $50 for something as important as good oil in a flat tappet cam engine ![shruggy shruggy](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/shruggy.gif) I use Brad Penn for my engine on the advice of of some knowledgeable engine builders. Gus this is absolutely true, but when you have 7 cars it can get a bit pricey. I use the Rotella 15-40 with the Hughes Engines additive.

Why stop there? You using the $20 oil filter too? Whatever the best filter I can get costs is small compared to what a new engine build costs(and I do my own builds). I love the way my 493 runs and I would gladly pay $100 a year to keep it together ![twocents twocents](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/twocents.gif) Gus ![beer beer](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/beer.gif)

I don't use synthetic in anything that sits for extended periods as the crank grinder guy I use says it's so slippery it doesn't cling to anything so you can end up with a dry cam and lifters on vehicles that don't get used frequently.
hmm never thought about this, is this true?
