Luckily the diaper probably saved the car at +100mph today. The clean up crew was also very happy and shocked a street car had a diaper on it. It was running real good with a 1.35 60ft and a couple of 1.37's on a 6.31 pass and I think it had a loss of oil pressure on the previous pass in high gear. Then came the 1st round...And it let go in high gear. I do not have an idiot oil pressure light in the car, and a couple of gremlins and some other issues got me all out of my normal routines today, and I miss diagnosed the lack of oil pressure as a lack of trans fluid for the one warning it gave me when it slowed down just as I shifted 3rd o the last qualifier run. Didn't see the gauges as this track has a real short shut down. Lost 4mph in the previous pass as it probably spun the bearing and I thought it was low on trans fluid...Car had a heck of a trans leak and was 1 quart low. Everything seemed fine...Pulled high gear, and made a big mess in 1st round... As I said, I am still in shock, and pretty depressed. Big engine, big loss. Last edited by Dragula; 07/31/16 01:15 AM. I was not familiar with the car and leaned on it hard to show a Camaro the quick way home (I won), but then it would not idle at the light. After fussing with it for a week or two, I pulled the motor and found a spun rod bearing. My problem was easy enough to fix with a complete fresh 440 and temporarily at least, you could do the same while you explore your options.
