i see that they now do, wonder when they started making them. imho they should have never dropped the sportsmaster rather than make the pro series in those dimensions. i "think" about the only application for them would be reground cranks or the callies cranks indy sells afaik they order their cranks with 2.2 pins in the chrysler width. i don't know of any others that normally use those dimensions. kinda of a ba$tard sizing don't you think? if you use the 2.2 pin in the chevy width it opens up a huge choice of rods

Manley didn't do a very good marketing job with the 14279's IMO.....BTW Brandon at 440Source was also making a Mopar width 6.535 rod for the 511 crowd and a 6.76" for the 470 guys. I'd rather build an run a 470 low deck than a 493 RB, especially in an A body bracket car, they'll make about the same power (the 470 at a few hundred RPM higher) and it's a bit lighter and more compact.

I agree if you're running a new rotating assembly a Chevy width crank makes sense.....But if you have a Forged 440 crank laying around for a 470 low deck (the 470 makes for a killer bracket motor) it was the best solution. Also if you had a 4.15 Mopar crank it can be offset to 4.25 or 4.30 with a 2.200 BBC journal.

With the economy turning down it might make good marketing sense to start making these pieces again.... lots of people have old cranks laying around and (given an economical option) might rather grind what they got then fork out for a new crank.

CBK, I thought you were running a standard stroke RB in the Haze??? If you were gonna offset grind a 440 crank somebody had a set of the Manleys in the Swap meet but for a Snail (turbo) motor I'd run the H beams and in your car I might opt for the larger Mopar journal anyway.....

I don`t know if these are what you`re refering to but, I run the OLD chevy style(wide rod widths) at 6.385 w/a 3.900 stroke on an off-set ground 413 crank going on 8+ years so far.
