I'd try a Domi on mine...but off the stop i like the throttle response of the 4150. Mine's 1000cfm AED.

Calculated on a 408 solid roller, single plane at 927 to 1,180 cfm. So carb up until I get less than 1"Hg at max rpm? Or just get a 1050 Dominator & be done with it??

I ran a 1050 on my 395ci it ran 9.56 in the 1/4.. every
carb that I went larger was quicker and faster
EDIT
I started with a 750. 850, reworked 950 and the 1050..
on my 416 I went with EFI and that is a 1000 cfm with
multi port.. when I dynoed that it was with a 850 and it
was 560hp with some issues(pump gas engine)... went
back later on the dyno and it made 590hp and 525 tq

To what extent does a single four become impractical? Is there a point on a small block when a Twin carb T-ram would be the better route?

I sold my 405ci W-9.. but on it I was gonna make a cam
change and go with a pair of 1050s on a T-ram..I dont
know when it becomes impractical but the T-ram was gonna
be my next step.. and the cam was gonna be .160 more lift
I already had the pair of 1050s.... this pic is my old 340

Springs hold to 7000. Obviously my local machine shop is a little rough with the bore though according to the vac readings. Drops off bad at 7200 and its still making power. Guess you get what you pay for. Torque plates work laugh

On another note, tech'd and waiting to race.

You might want to try a electric vac pump... if its
dropping like that maybe the vac pump will help it.. it
should
EDIT
Then you could turn it off when not racing

Yes. They said pan evac Not good enough. What's the best vac pump to buy? Where do they fit if your running a p/s pump for the hydra steer?

Fast rate cam, 1.6 rockers........ I'm going with valve float. When those things are "done", it's like flipping a switch.
I don't know if you were measuring air flow, but if you were, you'd see it there if that's what it was.

10.98 @ 123 1.54 60. Not bad for a 4000lbs tank. More in it yet though.
