any reason why you guys used cowl hoods over the sixpack hoods
For one thing, a forward facing six pack, or similar scoop, won't stay on the car at 1/4 mile speed. They have to be extremely high to clear most carb combos. Some organizations don't allow forward scoops and here is the one that will get me in trouble....I personally think a cowl looks much better. IMO, a jacked up six pack scoop is pretty ugly. I ran the HEMI Dart scoop on my car and always hated the way it looked, plus it tried to rip it off on every pass. I like cowls.

Pretty much all the reasons mentioned. Some classes don't allow front facing scoops and we started noticing that above 130 in the quarter the scoop and hood were trying to rip off the car.

Man I remember all or most of these cars. Back when I building my Cuda I was gonna have "fit" into the True Street class{iirc} and by the next year when I was finally done building it, they went and changed the rules. Then I couldn't even find an organization that I could even fit it into.. But I do like alll those cars. I wish I had my own pics of some. The ones I remember were from the all the mags.
When you decide to quit, THAT is the moment when you would've succeeded..

Phillip Rose has those DVD's. He sells them at swapmeets and races. They are ametuer but awesome if you have any memories of the races. My twins were born in '99 so their first races were Bristol. They were in the stroller at Virginia for the only KOS race VA ever had there. There is no coverage of this race on the DVD. But, a lot of the early year stuff. My kids didn't even recognize my car it looked so different.
