Those numbers are for ALL Chargers, so you cannot use a percentage from a sample and apply it to something smaller, like the R/T. When you see actual numbers, it's because there actually is a percentage for that model that exists. For 1971, things get a little funny and much of that info that you seek just isn't there.

BTW, the paint color breakdown is for Chargers AND CORONETS. So applying the percentage to the production numbers for any specific subset simply doesn't work.

IF you have the total production count for Chargers AND Coronets, then all you can get from the breakdown is how many black Chargers/Coronets were built. Let's say total production, for example, was 5000 units (Chargers + Coronets). All we can say is approximately 45(5000*.009) cars were painted black. BUT there could have been 45 TX9 Chargers and no TX9 Coronets OR no TX9 Chargers and 45 TX9 Coronets, or any combination in between.

Hope that helps.

In addition, incorrectly applying a percentage to one model or sub-model doesn't take into account color trends, such as Hi Impact colors being more likely on performance models.
