Doug where do you get that paint you used on your 64's eng as I really like that ? Ron

Ron it's just regular single stage urethane. I just mixed it up to be somewhere close to Max Wedge orange.

How does the urethane hold up to gas? Should be fine right? If you spill gas on your quarter the pint doesn't loft right away. The Eastwood quart can I used, it came out nice but lifted on the intake when I had a carb Leak. That got me mad as they say it is resistant to all kinds of chemicals. Wouldnt gas or oil be the most common chemical an engine might see?
I used to have a 30s car and I painted the engine, I happened to have a can of green rust oleum that looked close enough to the original color. I thkinned it and sprayed it. That held up way better than I ever would have thought.

I always use DP90 epoxy. The trick is cleaning. Do not use lacquer thinner or brakeleen as a final prep. Use DX440 grease and wax remover. Soak a rag, wipe, then wipe with a dry rag.

I used the dplf epoxy, i painted it within the alloted time frame. I think the paint lifted from the primer with the carb leak.sometimes I wonder how people keep their engines so good looking when the car is actually driven. The next ones i am empted to spray with black urethane .

I used Plasticote Hemi orange over the Plasticote engine primer. That's what Barton was using on my engine. I had to paint my water pump etc after the dyno session before installation. So far it's held up well after about 4 years.

Plastic coat works the best for spray bomb. It is available through Amazon.

I've used Plasti -Kote for years, holds up well. What I do is use the Hemi orange, then use the clear over that. Never any peeling or problems. I like the new Rust Oleum Chrysler orange, but it's a shade darker than the Plasti Kote.

Have a great day

I was turned on to Seymour MRO industrial paint. It's available in Chrysler colors. I like the Omaha orange (race Hemi) stuff holds up really well.
