In my opinion, the "engine builder" should order the pistons. If that's YOU, pick up the phone and call them. You don't get satisfaction from the guy on the phone, call somebody else. Get two or three people involved and you are asking for a miscommunication.
I use Diamond. I have ONE guy I talk to there. He is not in, I call back when he is. We go over the order, he emails me workorder to verify and THEN they start on them.
MOST piston companies will work with you on price if you get the right sales guy. I am not a shop, just a guy who has bought a few sets of pistons. I talk to the SAME guy all the time and we have a relationship. He gave me a deal because of it. If got started because I had another brand and was having problems. I just picked up the phone, called Diamond and got this guy. Explained the situation, asked could he help. I sent him a sample, he said he could fix the issue and been dealing with him since then. All these companies make good pistons. Who you get good help and service from is whats important to me, even if it costs a couple dollars more a slug
