I just installed mine and set it to 8 turns with no counterweight. I drove it around the streets for about an hour and it felt just fine. Actually, alot more streetable than I thought it would feel. Than at the track, I had to abort the first run after about 3rd gear as it was slipping too much. I tightened it up eventually to 10 turns and it is performing real good now. I did add small counterweight and ran 3 runs with it. I might try to back off to 9 turns next track outing.

I don't know...maybe yours had a defect or something not right. are you sure you had the adjustments all even around the p plate? Just asking. You can pm me if you want for my number.

Good luck,
Greg.

Jerico...gotta love those Ford Toploaders! I'm amazed that someone hasn't gone off on the tranny like they do on Glides and TH400s.

Ford also made an overdrive 4th Toploader during the '70s.

For the money, nothing will beat a Jerico. Super strong until 800 horses or so.
Very nice install !!

I was wondering what's your engine combo, rear gear and power your putting out? Those are nice times for a heavy car.

The engine is a stock block with main studs-line honed, decked, bored to 4.350 with 440 source rotating assy. Comes in right at 10.4 compression.
Edelbrock Rpm heads just cleaned up a little by me and a Victor portmatched intake. Cam is a Comp 640-648 (w/ 1.6 Harland sharps) at 268-272 dur at .050" degreed at 106 . I run a 1050 dominator 2 circuit conversion. It has Hooker super comps 2" headers.

4.30 rear gear with MT et drags 28/11.5 - 15 rears.

Thanks for asking.
