Have had great success using the factory gasket on 46rh, 46re, 42rh, 727, and 904s...On race cars using the Summit 904 cast aluminum pans...

Been using a metal pan I got from A&A at the Nats back in 2001 or 2002 w/the same reusable gasket. He sold them as a pkg then. Deep pan, spacer and re-usable gasket. Never had a leak.

If Superformance wants to send me enough to make a pan gasket..... "I'm your Huckleberry!"
I'll bet most MP steel pans leak between the middle 2 front holes, I'm thinking about just making a 1/4" thick steel bar "straddle Plate" and use longer bolts. If it has the slightest bow it's a clamping issue. I can assist you with that request.... how hard is that material to cut ? i would feel better using the factory plastic gasket if the sealing ribs were lots bigger, but maybe just cut my own or wait until the "proto typing"[ ] is done.

I never had any luck w/ the steel pans. They always leaked. I've had the thick cast aluminum pans ever since. My old 727 had one of the factory reusable plastic gaskets on it. Reused it a few times and had no leaks. Then that trans exploded on the starting line in 2008...so that gasket is no longer w/ us. Both of my current 727s have a regular cork gasket on them now. No leaks.

It cuts real nice and clean. When I make a gasket and have the pattern all drawn out on the material the first step is cut all the bolt holes with the proper sized punch. Then I'll cut out the center with a sharp utility knife. I cut about 1/2 way through the material on the 1st lap then the rest of the way on the 2nd lap, makes it easier to follow the line precisely. Then I'll cut the outer portion with a pair of scissors. A nice piece of MDF plywood on a solid surface makes things easier also.

Tried to PM you but it said your mailbox is over the limit.
I'm definitely up for getting a piece of the material to make a pan gasket from you. need it kinda quick though.
thanks!
Bobby
I'll try and clean it out, sorry. Your best bet is to call me

Only experience is with the 727 Can't beat a cast pan with machined surfaces This one's a TCI I love your engine oil checking system, simple & accurate, but hardly convenient.

Cascade makes a molded, reusable rubber gasket. Bullet proof. Don't leak.
