Can't use a digital or dial/adjustable light with an MSD.

I would only use an adjustable light on a non-multi spark application where I was setting base timing at idle.

If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

I read an article years ago IIRC in National Dragster where they did a comparison on timing lights on MSD ignitions. They liked the Actron from Auto Zone. I used to have a Snap On with the dial on the back when it laid down for the second time I bought an Actron to replace it. I've got a MSD light I carry in the trailer. They both check the same so I'm happy with both.

Another vote for the old Sears Chrome. I have had mine for 40 years and still going strong. It even has the advance dial on the back.

I wont tell you what to buy.. thats up to you..
all I can say is what has worked and what MSD said..
I will say that I bought a trick Summit light 2 weeks
before that didnt work.. it was $120.. I GAVE IT away
and bought the Flaming River which was much cheaper..
I have a Sears light... you want it.. its yours.. didnt
work on my 7AL... from what you see there are plenty f
people that get stuff to work.. hasnt been my case as well
as many others.. right now I have 7 timing lights...I use 1
wave

Another 40 year old chrome Sears light here. (non dial type)

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.
