This is the same thing that happens for us here in the Northeast with Mopars at E-Town every year. It's been Mopars against the World for along time now. Attendance has been declining at a once huge event because people can only seem to complain about anything and everything. If they would just show up and have a good time, there would be no complaints.

You hear a lot these days about a sense of entitlement. Wonder where that comes from. eyes

Well said.

It's a shame that most people see the negative about it and because it's not "How they want it" they will stay home.

This race is always kind of been a field trip for our friends and family. This seems like the only race that were able to get everyone together. Our group has exceeded 30 people.. in years past... and I am totally bummed that is not 100% Mopar anymore however I love to race and hang out with friends and family and Phil has always tried his best to keep everyone happy.. I believe he is a true Mopar guy and will always try to have something special for us at his events.... so I will continue to race at his event.... and for the guys that only race at Mopar events. I guess that's one less race a year you have to worry about.. and i try to distance myself from those type of people

It was, "Mopars At The Strip", right? So now it becomes, just another event. So, if Monster Mopar Weekend, becomes, "Monster Muscle Weekend", who cares? I personally don't care, but maybe some racers and vendors do. twocents

I go to MATS because it is a Mopar race. Don't get me wrong I own Chevy's but I can race a lot of different tracks that are a lot closer to Dallas and have better payouts. I will be canceling my rooms on Monday. I can use that gas money to do 2-3 local races. 👍🏻👍🏻

I can't believe you guys still can't go and spend time with other Mopar racers (Friends). Race, see Friends and other nice Mopars, eat, drink, lay-back and socialize. Life is GREAT, enjoy it.

I can do that but I don't need to drive 1300 mile to do it now. I can hit 3 other race for the same $$$.

I race brand X all year long. I couldn't care less if there's a GM powered car next to me as the payout is outstanding for being out west. I'm in if I can find a place to keep my stuff for the Spring Fling. I'll be one of the few Mopars there too, who cares. It's more about being able to meet and hang out with people I see online all year. I can't believe you Texas guys. I know you have lot's of local options but, who doesn't like Vegas? Don't be sceerd!

It's not about being scared. I only did it for the nostalgia. When I lived in CA I use to go to the Mopar race when it was in Palmdale then Vegas. One Chapter closes and another opens. I will do Ennis Mopar, Tulsa Mopar and maybe Monster Mopar in OH and do the mixed brand bracket races locally.

Well its official, I'm coming to Vegas to run the drag racing part of MATS again. It will be great to work with the Painter Family again and the great staff at LVMS. "Be There"!

Thanks J Body! I may still fly out to watch and hang with friends that will be going from California. It cost me $2500-$3000 total expenses to travel out from TX before with fuel. Now that fuel is 1/2 the cost it would save me about $600.🙂

I've been watching the fuel deal myself..... If you want to pull your car ANYWHERE, it looks like this might be the summer to do it. I just can't get enough time off work to pull off the Norwalk deal.... but have eyeballing the Gateway schedule in St Louis as there is supposedly a "muscle car" race there as well slated for October IIRC....
