Ok, I'm closing out on this thread ( I hear clapping )as there really is nothing more to be gained - those that believe a certain way including me ) aint gonna change. I respect that and hold no animosity and surely don't hate anyone - major waste of time. Besides, you are all Mopar freaks - and it is winter. I really do run the gambit with my shat boxes and will leave this post with 3 pics and something for ya-all to think about. Pic #1 = blown small block running .o28 to .030 plug gap. When the AF is in the ball park, plugs light and car goes fast ( notice I didn't say really fast ). Pic#2 = 33 Plymouth I just finished and about to go on it's madden voyage. YIPPIE!!! Warmed up 360 ( 9.7:1 ). Only run it on the stands so far, but runs fine with a bone stock Mopar ignition ( orange) box and plugs set at .040. Might try .045 if it passes initial road test. 3# pic. 2004 X-fire. Has a little 3.2 L V6 in it. Guess what; 2 plugs per hole and the gap is .040 per plug. I ask you to ask yourself why, when one plug per hole gapped at .025 would probably suffice. All very different cars and applications, but they do all have spark plugs. BTW, I did learn some stuff. Unfortunately, no much technical I didn't already know. Have fun beating each other up.

Last season I lost two races because of having a plug gap that got too wide. Running a MSD 7AL-3 I switched from the coil on the right, to the one on the left, my plug gap went from the installed .035 to over .060!!! All by itself! The car would NOT run under on track only load and I tore my hair out trying to fix the issue, never pulling the plugs. With the 8261 coil and a 7AL-3 MSD recommends a .020 plug gap. That's what I went with and now I check plugs and reset gap as necessary before every race.

My bad, just saw that the right one was for the 7-series boxes/ignitions............

The right or left one did the damage cos I run the one on the right and have for years w/out any issues w/a 6-series box....... Left one (8261). Too powerful - with I went with a milder one.

I should have directed my question to Thumper. 8251 is Not compatible with a 6 box... Finally saw that and I have the 6 version of that one............
