That company doesn't even think enough of racing and high performance, to even have a display booth at the biggest racing trade show of the year.
My thoughts exactly, seriously concerned with the direction this brand is going. The writing has been on the wall for some years now.. no blocks is a big issue with sticking with this brand.. a few more years and I expect the name Mopar Performance will drop With all of this. It's been decades since Chrysler gave a rip about gear heads. Back in the summer while chasing parts for my 434 I was on the phone with one of the better known builder/head guys on this site. We were discussing block and parts availability for Mopars. Both of us are in our early, mid 50s and agreed that if we were young men starting out we wouldn't be running Mopars. At this point we have to much invested to change. I'm at the same age and I was discussing this with a younger gent. He has looking in the junk yard for a 6.0 GM block, I've always say if I was to do this again it will be LS-something.

Sad but mopar seem to be going down ...I have thought long and hard about a big block Chevy. ..1050hp for 17500.00 Chevy and 22500.00 for mopar 900hp ..5000.00 could be used for a really nice glade and veta...just saying. . WOW!!!!!!!! I'm glad I'm not you and have to pay that much for 900 HP. I'm not big on throwing numbers out there as I never Dyno my engines but I should be in that neighbourhood for a lot less than that. 6000 dollars Keith Black block (didn't cost that much) 2000 " " Callas crank 1000 " " K1 rods and pistons 3500 " " B1 heads, intake, spacers 1100 " " T&D rockers 1000 " " custom cam, pushrods, lifters 500 " " rings, bearings, gaskets 1000 " " custom oil pan, pump, misc. _________________ 16.200 dollars I may have left out a few things but I also didn't pay that much for several of these items. I do my own work (as you could do too) and I'm always on the look-out for deals. Mopars are only expensive if YOU let them be. Sure Chevy racers have more choices but if you don't like it, join them. I love beating Fords and Chevies. Even more so with my Edelbrock headed small block.

There is no need to rehash what costs what, because we KNOW and what we KNOW is that Mopar parts cost more and are harder to find. So it is no secret that a store bought Mopar that makes the same power as a Chevy will cost more. Nothing to debate Absolutely, keep it apples to apples.

Funny that some want factory dimension bodies in Pro-Stock, when the Challenger is bigger and far less aero than either the Camaro or Mustang.............plus, we KNOW which company WON'T be spending a bunch of money developing bodies, just to make them better for racing. That company doesn't even think enough of racing and high performance, to even have a display booth at the biggest racing trade show of the year.
Do you really think I didn't know this. Same crap went on in PST. Why Nickens and Patterson put up with that crap for so long (except they HONOR their contracts) I will never understand. I don't give one single solitary CRAP if Chrysler has a PS car. Not one. That also doesn't mean I won't watch it because there is no chrysler junk in it. I watched all through the late 70's and the 80's where there was ZERO chrysler junk there. But it was half assed worth watching. So in the end, I still want factory bodies in Pro Stock. I'm tired of NHRA parroting ASScar in everything they do. Asscar is going down so fast it's hard to measure. Why copy that. For the same reason Pro Stock has been neutered. There in not ONE, SINGLE innovator on the NHRA staff. NONE. ZERO. Please don't tell me to go to work for NHRA. I'm not that scungy. Rant off because this thread is about Street Outlaws.
Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

I friend of mine has a Shaffroff 440 small block chevy in a 2800 lb Mustang and it runs 6.30's on motor, alcohol injected. I am faster than him and heavier. But his has a NOS cam in it. I am sure that is the reason. He usually sprays 500 shot on it and then he is a lot faster.

Good Chevy buddy of mine bought a nice engine from Ohio Crankshaft and the engine destroyed itself between the water box and the starting line after about 50 passes (or less). The piston was GONE, destroyed. And it was a well known piston manufacture. They took the engine apart and gave him an 8 page report on what happened. Failure to properly clean block and engine parts while assembling engine. No thanks, I'll do my own.

My friend had to rebuild his 2 times this season and at least once last year. I think he is spraying too much on it or bad tune. He is a grudge racer. He want tell me what it runs but he tell me one night it ran 137 in the 1/8.

At 1 point I was completely brand loyal then I started to think look price and thought I'm brand loyal but the brand ain't loyal. ..no parts 2 3 times more just no help at all ...my ram is a 2002 4 door got it in 02 dash cracked and busted no longer after I got it ..call mopar is there a recall...oh no we didn't put the uv protection in it no recall but there is a discount I think like a 100 but the dash was 4 or 5 hundred..so I gotta pay for your message up..Trans started acting crazy not long after...I'm a small business owner not home alot and don't have a lot of time to mess with stuff much just would like to enjoy it a little. . As far as that goes, EVERY manufacture screws the customer NOT just Mopar. And I don`t care if Chubbys and ferds are cheaper and make more power than Mopars cos that`s only part of the reason I run em.......

I enjoy out running friends driving chevys with bigger motors in lighter cars. The only ones faster are big blocks and small blocks with NOS.

A lot of mopars on gas as well ..come on now don't act like it's not ...but people will debate mopar ford Chevy til the end of time.. Maybe you are correct, but I am ALWAYS the ONLY mopar there and mine is a pump gas small block on motor only. The only ones faster are nos or big blocks or tube chassis cars. My neighbor has a yates headed small block ford in a Mustang that weighs 2800 and runs 6.60's on motor.

I enjoy out running friends driving chevys with bigger motors in lighter cars. The only ones faster are big blocks and small blocks with NOS. This happens with EVERY brand. Be it a Mopar, Ford or Chevy, there are loads of cars out there which run to nowhere near their potential, just like there are some of every brand that are over achievers. So I am assuming your comparison is just based on your immediate friends..........because I know there is no way you are claiming you have the quickest vehicle at your weight, with the same cube N/A smallblock of any kind, any where
