That's not my Fury, that's Radar's. I've never actually met him. The Fury will show up like a ninja, sit in the back of a parking lot, and then magically disappear...
I had my Fury up at Union Grove (took the lazy way out with my 2012 Charger down to Indy and Cordova), but there were so many people there I was parked way back.

Ok, Jeremy, now I'm really confused, this is at least the second time I've met you at Drag Week, and Radar's car has been there, so I thought you had purchased his! Like you mentioned, in those instances, I didn't see Radar anywhere, which only perpetuated my confusion.
It's not at all unusual that people (and cars) from previous drag weeks tend to show up for at least a visit on the current one, kind of like a moth to a flame, I guess!
Lewis Martin, who's taken his 301 Street Cars 72 Chevelle to four DWs, was on hand with his family at least one day, as was Mike and Vicki Crow (lawndart69)

I had to laugh at the "froggy-faced plymouth" moniker Hot Rod used in this issue, as I figured the person who wrote it was too young to remember that these cars were called "road toads" in their hay day!
Other former competitors rides spotted during this year's event included Mike Angerer's '74 Opel Manta, and Kris Henderson's '59 Jaguar.

Darren, walked over and asked to see my route sheet. "Crud!" I reached in my wallet for my time slip, "I haven't turned my time in yet, thanks for reminding me. Did you get some good rest? I didn't even see what time you made it out here". Darren decided to stay at the motel and sleep in, since he wasn't in competition. As I've chronicled before, sleep deprivation and exhaustion have taken as many people out of Drag Week as parts failure (although the one is usually the symptom of the other). "No!" Darren shrugged, "they kept knocking on the door to clean the room, the second or third time I was sleeping so hard, the gal came in, and started the vacuum cleaner before she realized I was still in there!" "That was more of a corporate motel", I explained, "They were already cleaning rooms when we were leaving at nine." "I saw Jim sleeping under his car", Darren laughed, "and they just announced that Jeff Lutz threw in the towel about fifty miles down the road bacause he was too tired to go on. At least I got more sleep than Dale and James, they are going to be dragging on the trip this afternoon". "Yeah, Rachael too", I agreed, "Hopefully she'll let Skip drive some. Why's Tony's Javelin up on stands?" "They've got the transmission out of it, something about the case", Darren commented.

Well that was kind, Brian Lohnes referred to it at least once as something like "a Chrysler design error from the sixtyies". I don't care what they say, I like it! Bill
