Why wouldn't he? You see athletes on TV commercials promoting everything from pizza to satellite TV. What are they doing? Milking the cash cow! And they have multi million dollar contracts, these guys don't. I say make it while they can, it'll be over one of these days.

I see nothing wrong with the S.O. guys capitalizing on their TV fame. They would be fools if they didn't, IMO. These guys have families to support. Monte says they are decent people, and that's how they come across on TV, so I wish them all the best.

I suggest you guys listen to the podcast. Toss that on while wrenching on the car or driving down the road. They sound like regular old car guys to me and it gives you some better insight into what actually happens.

I also have a lot more respect for Chuck after his podcast, episode 6.

Just finished listening. It was cool to hear some of the behind the scenes details that the show doesn't include. Kind of changes how you view some of them as well as the events. Thanks for posting the link. up

I really hope he doesn't go with a pro mod body car. That would be a quick way to end a good show.
How many people are going to build cars to compete with something like that? How many people can relate to something like that? Lets go watch pro stock.
Way to "next level" to fit in with what they are currently doing.
Don't get me wrong... I like pro mods, but there's a time and a place for everything.

Coureous to what those cars on the show weigh ? Lightweight should be #1 goal to building a race car.

I think he did that because Dominator already got bumped one spot so BoostedGT could run Doc...bumping him another spot would have been pretty low.

Street racing is about cash. Bring a knife to a gun fight and you can kiss the money good bye. Simple reality. Dave knows that. Justin knows that. Only a matter of time before the rest have to do it if they want to keep up. Both Murder Nova and Doc's cars are going to be too heavy and aero challenged to complete at the top shortly too. The upside is the fans love them and the money's coming as a result.

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

The problem with heading in this direction, is the people with the knifes won't show up to a gun fight.
The fundamental premise goes away when there are no competitors. It's no fun watching one dominant force beat up on anyone dumb enough to try.
Even if you could find 10 people in the country to do this, it would get real old real fast.
Where does it stop? A top fuel team shows up then what?
Youtube "tuff's" call out with his jet car. Seems stupid until you think about it.

I was all against the Pro mod type car as I like the cars that Drive on the street but Drag cars are progressing at least the fast stuff is. So it looks like sub 2000 lb carbon fiber is going to be the norm. Anyway I was against it till I saw a 70 Cuda pro mod carbon fiber Hause style chassis roller. Painted panther pink on E bay. It looks like an old funny car. I like, in the end its all about whos fastest.

Brian/Tuff is both incredibly annoying and brilliant. I couldn't stop laughing at his callout with the jet car.

Oh I enjoy these Street Outlaw threads. Daves car is back from paint. Dave has been driving Henson's Vette. It was on the show before.

I agree, I love the show and never miss an episode but I certainly don't want to see it evolve into a promod shootout. Maybe they shouldn't allow promods to race against them so they don't have to all switch over to them. I know they are cool and light and fast and they want to win races and money and everything but it will destroy the whole idea of the show for me. I'd rather see Chief build another GTO than to switch over, next thing you know they'll all have '63 corvette promods painted a different color.
