The exhaust side is opening against cylinder pressure, so the rocker is under more stress. Weight of components on the exhaust side isn't as important either, and you need less spring. Broken exhaust rockers are more common.

You guys are running some big stuff in the valve train. I'm just using aluminum rockers with 7/16 double taper pushrods and .937 Crower .180 offset tappets, and as Tony says "smallish cam for a Predator". How much compression are the N/A guys running and how much HP are you expecting to see? Also, what timing are you running?

We have 1.062" cam FX keyway lifters in the 5" Billet Hemi
9/16 to 1/2 on the exhaust side and Straight 1/2 on the intake.

Those Rockers look very very nice!

16.44 to 1 tom as you know, think should be able to make 1270+ hp N/A .expecting total timing to be around 31 degrees , will find out in a month or two on S&S Dyno......

Exhaust side is critical and as stated opens against more pressure. Valvetrain deflection is an issue. Also, you do NOT want a failure on the exhaust side in any motor, but especially a boosted or nitrous motor. With a broken exhaust rocker, the intake keeps piling stuff in the cylinder, but it's not getting out. The NEXT thing to "get out" is usually a rod.

As for Cam FX, I run their keyway lifters..............top notch stuff

I think Chris can make rockers for just about anything! he has 4 cnc machines. If there is a demand (a few sets ) Im sure he would make a run of them.

Does the predator heads require offset lifters?

Mine are .937 Jesel keyways. We spread them out as well to get them as straight as we could with the block we had. Also using all left hand offsets. Mine are about a straight as they can get. Required a lot of clearancing to block and heads as well. Still not quite ready but inching closer. Now with the season for the heads up car done things should move a little faster.

Should anyone be interested in what it's like dealing with Chris @ CAMFX, aside from the obvious reasons of quality.

He's driving over to KB (since my block is still there) to see if I can squeeze in some 1", or better tappets. The lifter spread I'm at may make it tough, I'd have to get the block here to determine. Then re machine if it's possible to go bigger. He's taking his own time to check it out. THANKS

Chris did the same for me, it's about a 45 min drive between shops....

Well since everyone is singing his praises I guess someone has to be a little rain. I have found Chris EXTREMELY hard to get ahold of. Don't want to go into to much detail but our experience with them has not been very good. Maybe just bad luck on our part.

I just talked to Chris (cam fx ) he is working on a a rocker bar for predator heads, it is being made of chromemolly , very soon complete rocker systems for predator heads will be avalible from cam fx, with options of alum, tool steel or titanium rockers.... I will keep this thred up dated with pics as they become avalible.

With the limited use of Predator heads out there, it would seem likely this rocker body would be something that can easily be machined for other applications as well, by slightly moving the adjuster or tip roller. Obviously the bar will proprietary, but once you have a print, they can be spit out as needed......Good deal

I just added to my order with CamFX. Aside from the tool steel rockers and 1 inch tappets, I'm having Chris make a full set of Ti rockers for my next predator build as well. I'll post up some pictures when I see them.

Having a better base plate will be nice as well. There's nothing at all wrong with the T+D, just like everything else in the world. There's always something better.

Chris made Ti rockers for some of the winning PS teams before ti rockers got outlawed for PS by the good ole NHRA.

Monte, if you're reading this could you weigh in on the super A nozzle from nos? My manifold has 2 bungs for 90 degree nozzles in each runner, and I don't really want to re fit to annular. The scoop comes down over the manifold as well, I think making annular even more difficult to fit (I think). I'm looking for the meanest 90 nozzle there is.
