Dale's front porch this morning...Hell Week is what we refer to our thrash the week before...and it has officially begun! His porch will look like this every day until we leave for St Louis.

Thanks for the tips guys, but I made a snap decision to try the new ET Street R, which is based on their Radial slicks...we will see. I was just afraid to jump into a new brand without knowing how they would hold up.

Hope to see you at one of the tracks if time permits. I'll be riding with HEMI Joel.

As of now we will be taking the "Tommy Boy" road trip in Joel's GTX convertible. His Hot Rod will have to wait until 2016.

Billy, you and your kin will be all thrashed out when you get to Drag Week, but you always put on a good show, good luck! I'll bring you a cup of coffee when I see you!
I bit off way more than I can chew this year again, trying to work on too many projects at the same time. My business commitments don't allow time for any last minute thrashing. So my Hot rod won't be ready for Drag week. Like Jeff said, we'll be taking the GTX convert. It's bone stock and never been run on the strip, so it's probably going to be slow. This year will be like a vacation I hope, with no broken stuff to work on. See you all there!

My Trunk Monkey from last year, Kevin Rolf really caught the Drag Week bug, so he is coming with his genuine 1967 Shelby. It's got a warmed up 428 Cobra Jet, and he will be in the street eliminator class. The snake on the hood is a 1970's vintage graphic. In a world where most Shelbys are now pampered trailer queens with correct orange peel and chalk marks, I think it's way cool that he keeps the old snake on there and races his Shelby. He can only run 11.50 due to no roll bar, and he is hoping that the bump for the quick 32 is slow enuff for him to get in.

And my old pal Jay is bringing his Cammer powered 1969 Shelby, too. He has had some hard luck with this car for the last few years, so I really hope that his problems are behind him and that the car makes the full tour this year.

I thought original Shelbys came with roll bars??? In the photo it looks like there is something there.

They aren't the NHRA/IHRA required 6 pt bar, it's really just an internal hoop.

Great looking Shelbys! My neighbor has a few, including a '67 GT500 and a 427 Cobra.

Joel- is your GTX 'vert a Hemi or 440 car? 4 speed or auto?

Nick, it's a Hemi, but it does have the slushy, sloppy, slippy, drippy, stinky, slimy, mushy, fussy, fluid coupling. blush

Dale has the D-60 for the Gremlin scattered everywhere.
Just got Hoosier Quick Time Pro 29X13.50s mounted for the Valiant.
Darren's Charger is getting pushrods and a return fuel line.
Rachael just flew in from Phoenix, and I'm only half done re-wiring the Belvedere!

Just put in one last ditch overnight Summit order...

I was informed today, that Gateway is having a race this weekend. Sat AND Sun deal and no Drag Week cars will be able to test until after 5pm and they are only talking about running until 9pm. If that is true......gonna be some mad folks........LOL!!!
