There are lots of options. I make a simple bracket that hold the coil vertical or I make little brackets that hold the square type coils. Andy- Will the Blaster SS coil bracket fit on a 440 with the standard M1 single plane manifold? The cast-in coil bracket boss is kinda big on those intakes. In comparison, the Victor intake provides a lot more room in that area. Should fit with the M1 single plane. I tested that bracket with a bunch of single plane intakes and it worked with all of them. I think it even works with the Performer RPM but it doesn't work with other dual planes.

The traditional MSD Blaster round tower coil internally uses an oil-bath to help kool its windings .. When mounted horizontally the oil lays differently and is less efficient for cooling. How well/long it runs OK really depends upon how hot does it get.. This is determined by the value of the ballast resisitor, the ECU used and physical location..... Just my $0.02... ![wink wink](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/custom/wink.gif)
