From what I heard on Chanel 4 Frieburger said it was open to the public?? I have heard so many different stories and rules about this, 150 cars 5500 people to 7000 people spectating?? I will be standing on the soccer field at the end of the track watching it outside the fence!!!!

maybe they will get a tent over the circus soon enough.

Thank you

I wish the rest of the car came out as nice as this time
I painted the front end... I'm changing things around this
time... the louvers I'm gonna paint satin black like some
of the other parts on the car... but I'll do that in a week
or so... I dont even think I'll have to wet sand the front

Had a blast today at the Silverdome.
Almost did not make the rounds at all since I spaced on bringing a helmet out of all things. Got a helmet from a cool gentleman by the name of Gary who got his friend to loan me his Motorcycle helmet.
Track or more like parking spots were slippery and a little bumpy, but doable with some slack on the throttle and less air in the tires. Starter/staging Ladies were cute. More like Baywatch on concrete.
My car went drunk first round, but I got it together for the rest with less air, throttle and finesse.
I was shutting down even before the stripe being that I have four way DRUMS. LOL.
Back to the Wood this Saturday.

Good to meet you FMJ!

My night could have gone better, but all in all it was a good experience. Fuel pump crapped out as I was lining up to make a pass, ran an hour home, cobble together an old Holley Blue with some fittings, ran an hour back got the pump installed in 15 minutes and got the car home.

I didn't expect much organization, but to mandate SA2010 lids, and DOT street tires (explicitly not drag radials) and then let everything fly was a little disappointing.

What kind/make of pump?
I plan on having a small wire/plumb in cheap fuel pump that I can wire/plumb in at any time along the line to get me out of holes like that.
Tires!
Yeah, That's why I just went with the wind and came with my DOT Hoosier QTP's and did not care if I didn't get to run.
I figured that Detroit has some really fast cars and if those cars are on civilian tires, they may pose a bigger problem compared to a car with DOT gummies going straight and smart.
Scott, the track manager, his track staff and Chrysler heads of state were fantastically nice. Even the breath check police were cool. Wonder how many people melted the contraption. LOL. What a world we loiter in now.
Had a good time all in all as well and met some good people. Glad to have met you as well.
Made it late to the Cutter though.
Maybe will loiter tonight if not all day Saturday.

I thought about trying to PM ya or something, because I knew you were close, but I remembered I had a pump at home that I thought (hoped) worked, and the GF was coming up anyway, so she stayed and enjoyed the racing while I went on a parts trip, all in all I've had worse nights wrench

I have 2 new Mallory 150s and a used Mallory 150
even the used one works well.... thats part of the
reason that I run a pair of pumps... if 1 craps out
you might not have enough to race but you can get home
EDIT
plus I think I have 2 holley blues

It had a BG220 on it. I know everyone knocks them, but I have overall had decent luck with then. Sometimes the pump side would weep and need a new o-ring, but this was the motor. The pump has been on there for a while I suppose.

This will serve as the motivation to build a new fuel cell with a modern style in-tank pump (or two, haha).

Yes, they let drag radials in. I saw Nitto's, BFG drag radials and I was the only one that I knew had Hoosier QTP's
I even saw a Polyglass member wearing his worn out Polys.
Run what you brung they said, so I did.

Saw your car parked but no one was around, glad you got it fixed and home. Was a little disapointed when i saw other cars with dr,s and QTPs, i woild have looked for a pair instead of wheels for my street tires. Had good time over. quallified in the quick 6 for the run off but got smoked by that turbo diesel Ram.

I'll be at or just across from the Chrysler Fiat display at 13th mile and Woodward depending on space. they have an experience track taking up much real-estate at 13th, so I might be thrown across the street somewhere. It's a scrap shoot.
Trying to get there early as to not be stuck in the traffic rut.

I have two sets of rims with drag radials, I went out and bought used wheels/tires just for this...that said, who needs 2 15x8 prostars? haha

I saw your car too, but didn't socialize much after the fuel pump died.
Wish they would let other Mopars in the Dodge shoot out, but yeah, that truck was crazy.

Yeah, I'm a little jealous...haha.

If I would have known, I would have put a dodge badge on the plymouth along with the plate kit that's sitting on the shelf
