Im new to the pre 68 mopar game here as a customer brought me a 66 charger to go through amd redo the interior. The full length console top plate is pretty pitted up. Is there anyone in particular that can restore these? Or just send it to a chrome shop and finish out the details at home?

That is what I would do. The pot metal they used did not fare well with the not-so-air-tight interiors of that era.

Look for a better top. It will cost quite a bit to have one repaired and chromed

If you have to use that one, Iversons does a nice job on Pot Metal and it will still fit correctly when he is finished. I think he does the detail work too.

Do they even do reproduction full length consoles for these cars? Never seen it.

I missed the Charger part of your question.. Is the console different in it VS the Coronet?? If so you might be right..

Hell yes it is different. The aluminum inserts were available at from Winslow Motorsports. I have bought stuff from them before and it was very nice.
