Can anyone tell me if an 04 Dakota with a 4.7 Ecm can be tuned to run a 5.7 hemi?

its been done with an 05 Dakota 4.7 ecm. I believe 05+ 4.7's have 16 plugs, I know my 08 does. I asked Dave Weber at Modern Muscle about it and he said it would be smarter to just swap ecm's.

Mopar to the bone!!!

Triggering from cam and crank is different between engines. It's not the number of plugs that matters. If you used modified tone wheels, maybe.

I know at BIONICDODGE.COM it has been done. Is it the 05 ECM in any model whether its a 4.7 or 5.7 that has the best tuning capabilities?
Once again trying with the stock one cuz emisions requirements
HP tuners say on their web page that they support 04 to10 Dakotas 3.7 and 4.7.
But to what limits? Started a post on there and still no replies. Email them and still no concrete answeres on their products.
I would be willing to swap ECM but I like my throttle cable and i'm unsure of the Vin changing.

I believe they are the same from 02 and up. Can't remember what year they changed.
One person has swapped out his pcm with the hem and it started and ran.

I'll figure it out somehow. Lol
thanks for plugs. Finally figured out how you remove the wire. Lol

There has been lots of people running 5.7 with 4.7 ecm but are not posting much info.
Must be a mopar thing . lol

You might be on to something. I pulled up the wiring diagrams for the C1 and C2 connectors on a 2003 1500 NGC controller. Funny thing, it does not differentiate between 4.7 and 5.7 engines. work
