Is there anyone out there making correct rear window louvers besides Gean Gregory and if so who makes the best ones and the most complete? Thanks

I'd like to see pics of others, but mine don't fit as well as you'd expect for that kind of money. Gene acts like he's doing you a favor, As I stated in other post, they're ok, but not great. I'll give the same advice someone gave me when I asked (unfortunately I didn't listen). Gene's are ok if you don't mind tweaking them to fit, but don't expect them to lay nice.

Back in 79 I had a chance to buy a set for $40.00, I passed thought he wanted to much for them...
But then again in 1980 I bought a 71 HemiChallenger with the Hemi & the 4.10 Dana for $400.00...So maybe $40.00 for just louvers was to much..........................

Your choices are slim,I have a set of Gene's louvers, and yes they needed a little "tweaking" to fit nice, however factory louvers didn't fit all that well either!, esp, the Cuda's, maybe a pic of your problem?, would help us understand your issuses with them,I personally thought Gene's louvers were rather nice! Play Back run by Diemingo is your only other source at $1200

You can check the pics in the link I posted above. They generally don't lay well, the worst area is the 2 top corners, there are gaps at each of the top corners. I don't see how this can be tweaked, they just don't fit the contour of the roof line. This was the 2nd set he sent me, the 1st was even worse.

I noticed on the playback site they mention each set is checked on a car to insure fit. I think this is a known problem with his parts. Maybe they got it right.

Got any pics of how yours fit?

Checked out your pics,That's pretty much how my louvers from him sat on the car, all I did was place a 2X4 peice of wood under the hinge area, while they were on a bench, and slowly pressed the corner end down, and continued trial fitting them to the car, until they fit the contour of the roof, no big deal?

Interesting, do you have any pics of the final install?

Problem I see with mine, is that they lay flat everywhere else (middle top and both sides) but the 2 corners are raised.

Playback is selling their own louvers? I know Gregory has distributors that resell his...

The first set I got from Gregory was warped/not right. He paid to have them sent back and sent me a perfect set. I am very happy with them as well as the rubber bumpers I got from him.

I bought a set of Genes louvers for my Mr.Norms T/A back in 1999. I thought the fit was "ok" as I had a factory louver T/A sitting next to mine that we were using as a template. The mounting posts were black in color, and not correct. I called Gene on this and he insisted that thats how they came from the factory. Besides my friends T/A, I looked at two other original E body Trans AM cars and they all had the chrome posts. Called him a 2nd time and argued to no avail. WOund up buying the correct posts/pins from Yr 1 for $80.00
Just my buying expierence and

Well a good friend of mine just bought one from Herb's for his Cuda AAR and he is delighted. The fit is excellent. I will buy one too pretty soon!
