I'm running 13" disks on the front, 11.7" on the rear. I'm making my own brake lines as I will be installing a hydraulic ebrake on the rear lines and a line loc on the fronts. Just to be sure - can I delete the stock proportioning valve and just use Tee's instead? I'll be adding an adjustable brake proportioning valve on the rear line to dial in the brakes.

Yes, you can. I ran a T up front, and a adj prop valve for the rear sticking through by the drivers seat.

I'm using the Wilwood adjuster. Removed the stock valve and put the new one in it's place.

I am having a problem where my brakes work too good and I can't heel toe like before. I just touch the brakes trying to heel toe and the brakes just bite down hard. I have Dr. Diff's 13" kit in front Cobra discs in back and hydroboost, will an adjustable proportioning valve dial this out?

Thanks

I'm considering hydoboost as well at some point. I have read from others that it's better to use the bell crank from the stock power brakes set up when using the hydroboost set up? Makes then less "touchy" they say? No first hand experience just thought I'd pass that along?

Yes, but I wouldn't go there or ever suggest it for anything approaching normal use. Try a less aggressive set of pads, see if that is enough.

I was actually going to step up to Carbotechs once these pads are worn down,
I will just have to change my driving style

what size master cylinder? I'm assuming it's pretty large, so your pedal throw will be quite short.

If you want to heel toe again (and you want to keep your hydroboost), you should adjust your pedal heights to where the brake is closer to the gas pedal height at threshold braking.

I have manual brakes - 15/16" master - has a decent pedal throw (correct for heel toe when threshold braking, though well shy of heel toe reach when normal braking). That's obviously the other option.

this. But I assume he probably knows this already if he does heel toe braking.

Thanks for the info guys! I can now finish my brake lines on my days off next week

I am using a 13-1860 aluminum Dodge truck master cylinder 1.13" bore

I'm going to say no since the proportioning valve only holds off pressure to the rear brakes. Is there a way to regulate the pressure from the PS pump to the hydraboost unit? I think that is the only way to dial back the assist.

I believe using the stock bell crank instead of direct from the pedal to the HB changes the ratio.

I would toss the HB, way overkill IMO.

not for overkill, for overdrift! lol I'll post pics of it when I'm done, something no one has thought of yet

There are pressure regulators made for street rods running PS R&P's, which don't need the pressure that pumps made for steering boxes can provide. Don't know why they don't just adjust the regulator in the pump, but whatever.

In this case I read it as a bias problem, not an excess boost or pressure problem. Did I get it wrong?

I know this is super old, but thanks for the picture and the idea.
I was just about to order an in-line proportioning valve for my 4 piston brake conversion, but this is a heck of a lot slicker looking.

Just ordered myself one and will mount it in place of the stock splitter.

Maybe when I build my 69 Coronet AutoX'er... the 69 Satellite wagon is just a cruiser that may see the AutoX course once or twice.

Not knocking you or the Wilwood, that thing is on about everything I see guys building these days. It has its place and takes the guesswork out of "which proportioning valve do I need..."

To be honest I've never had to adjust it, It has always been wide open, you might get by with out it?
