I just talked with Bill from BMP/World and they will be producing BBM mopar blocks again. They are about 6 weeks out!

True. I've been collecting aftermarket blocks because of the shortage. I have 3 motors with cast iron mopar/world blocks, 1 aluminum Indy Hemi and a aluminum World block. My wife asks me why I need them since I only race a few times a year. I tell her they make great street motors also but I think she is not believing it.

What does BBM mean? Are these steel or aluminum blocks? I spoke with BMP last week and the song was 'I ain't got no machine shop' for the aluminum wedge blocks. Did Bill go find a machine shop? I really 'Hope' so.

I don't know about you guys, but I had a couple of issues with the Iron Hemi block I had a while back and called them....Well, to say I will never ever buy or deal with them again is an understatement. Maybe you guys will have better luck, but I was not treated very well, and I think those guys are going to have lots of trouble if they continue to treat people that way....

So I will also say I will believe it when I see them.....And not on my dime either.

I
Have no dog in this fight but are you sure it was a World block? From the story I got, the last 6-8 months that Mopar did blocks it was not by world. I have had good luck with world products with Chevy stuff. I never had to deal with them on customer service so I would not no but with I just ordered a cam plug for my BBM world block they were very friendly and helpful.

I think that all World blocks now ( CHEVY ) are CHINA
Think Bill may make some heads here but World blocks for other brands are said to be imported--oh well we will see.

Big Block Mopar. I think they are going to start with aluminum but I did not go in to to much conversation because I didn't want to waste his time since I'm not in the market for a block.

This is the news I recieved awhile back from Mopar Performance.
It seems that ARROW (sp) is contracted to do the work.
Do not know if the person at Mopr Performance knows what he is taking about.
So lets HOPE FCA makes everyone happy by producing blocks for everyone.
R3, bigblock, and an R3 version of the G3.

I have a World hemi block, not together yet, but it didn't need anything special during machining other than replacing the main studs. Other than that, it was/is a nice piece.

Honestly, I don't care if the new ones are made in China. Obviously I'd prefer it not be, but whatever. Just another block being available to purchase is a good thing. They all need to be checked out and machined anyway.

That made in China part won't bother me near as much as the made in North America price it will no doubt have... flame

Follow the link.....http://www.theengineshop.com/news/51/BMP_Takes_Over_World!.html Bill Mitchell sold the cast iron line and kept the aluminum line.

I don't believe the "made in China" thing. It's just ignorant talk.

PBM makes the World cast iron blocks now, IN THE USA!

I have had the same experience with my world AL wedge block. Went together great other than the studs. Glad someone here found the stud thing before it got too far.
