I'm hoping HEMI Joel will have his Hot Rod ready for DW. If so I'm riding shotgun with him. Would like to meet up with any Moparts members on the down time.
Jeff there is down time in drag week? I have found very little in the last 2 years! but cant wait to do it again regardless of which tracks it is at.

I think part of it is the DRAMA... we have/had guys waiting for at least a month.. if HRM was really on top of this they would have started last year to line up tracks.. all they had to do is come up with some sort of place to start/finish as in the east/west/north/south.... that gives the tracks time to prep people for the time ... being that its starting the 13th this year I think they ran into issues Its not a reality show I see no benefit to adding drama, I imagine they have had a hard time booking tracks. I am not sure every track is waving their hands saying ME ME ME like Tulsa does. Its the 13th this year because it has been the first full week AFTER labor day every year. Labor day is Monday the 7th, the 13th is the first full week after that.

Being a hard core track racer and getting to the track every weekend I have zero interest in this event but every year its the same story. My car isn't done yet, its to far away, no vacation time, my wife sprained her wrist, or the dogs not feeling well. This is it guys, your one event of the year. Sign-up and get your butt there instead of posting ALL year long about an event you never attend.

^^^^^^^ I agree. 2013, I followed the participants in a rental car. Had a great time meeting folks and watching from the side lines. 2014, couldn't get my project done in time, so I drove my daily driver Ram truck. Not competitive but I still had a blast. If I get in this year, I'm going for sure. 2nd track announced: http://www.hotrod.com/news/2015-hot-rod-drag-week-day-2-track-announcement/

Drag Week cars, by their very nature, lend themselves to other events quite well, so it's not like they sit in a corner covered up for the other 51 weeks of the year.
Ok, I'm lying, but as a sworn ambassador of Drag Week, sometimes I have to toe the company line...

you'd better hire a room full of folks with smart phones/laptops to "HIT" that button when the time comes Mr. P... you've built your ride for this... get it done! I have the wife... she and I will both be on it on multiple puters... she thinks she can have a quick way... she did this stuff for Chrysler so she knows her stuff

Jay, we will definitely have a seat for you, as I pointed out last year, we had 5 cars and 7 people, I'm sure the math won't be any better this time...

...and only about 3 of 'em were running AFTER the first day as well. Every year, we promise ourselves to be more prepared the following year. Come along Dustin...you may regret it, but you will never forget it!! This was the Gremlin's Venolia piston one pass after his 8.95 that ended last year's story: [img:center] [/img]

They didn't announce the tracks all at once, because they DON'T have all the tracks yet. It's really that simple. They decide where they want Drag Week and THEN they attempt to line up tracks to make the logistics work. Many tracks are either booked, too expensive, or are not interested.............Along that vein, I would be shocked if Norwalk was on the list. How would it POSSIBLY benefit that track to host a day on Drag Week.
MrP...........how you going to line up tracks a year in advance, before you even know what area of the country next years event will be in? If you DO show up, I will direct you over to Jenny and Michelle and YOU can be the one tell them they need to "get on top of this"...........I will have the paramedics on standby for you.........LOL!!!

That's the problem with the Baders, they just have no clue how to promote their race track! (okay, where's the sarcasm emoticon on this new fangled board...)

They know each track BEFORE they announce.. they have signed contracts before they announce otherwise 1 track would screw it all up... its not hard to decide where you want... every year its been east or west..... oh, the 2 ladies know me well
