head was up in Sodak at my dads. He shipped it for me. Few days later Ryan G (408strokerdart iirc) calls me and you could tell from the tone of his voice he wasn't happy. I had the other "junk" head under my bench at work as the guy who attempted to repair the port hole in #3 had given up and shipped it down here..... and low and behold two of the ports were cracked in that one too.... ripped up the check, stupid pos cost me $30 to ship, and he had a new door stop .

Distributer went to a guy named Gary up in MI... called me and told me the cap on the distrib was broken... pizzed me off as I'd packed it pretty good... but got off the horn with him and called Summit and had one drop shipped. That was the only time I had the opportunity to talk with Unlawful.

Overall I've had good experiences with people here. Most of the parts I've sold have been shipped before payment arrived. No problem getting ripped off now.... the W8 project drained me for everything I had

I sent a 489 pig with a clutch posi and 4.11 to a high school kid who needed something to wake up his car.
I got the " novice to the sport " vibe from him and I let him have it for the price of the ride to Belvedere , Il.
Never heard back , but the gear was beyond what I would use and I was switching to a 742 case , so he just saved me from tripping over the thing till I found another home for it.
Hopefully , he learned something.
I prefer to think that over the idea that some one older used a clever ploy , sold the part and had a good chuckle at my expense.
I haven't been burned bad enough to matter in any car dealings.......I could usually recoup some of my outlay and that cut down the price of the lesson I got.
But I am ( kind of like Popeye ) what I am , and will do what I do.
How others do their thing is up to them.

well John you did send me that old W8 motor plate which gave me some ideas until I switched direction... but I did as you requested and bought the service porters at work lunch!

...and if you know anybody needing it, it's here and I could certainly send it.

I would have wound up cutting it up to fab stuff if it sat around here much longer.
With the Gen III stuff gathering steam , I think we are ones of a shrinking number who are willing to make the commitment it takes to do a righteous LA platform.
I guess it would work for a more sedate build too.......the plate don't know what letters or numbers the heads have.
That's just the kind of thing we should be able to expect from our fellow enthusiasts.
Well..........the one's who aren't ( insert derogatory remark here ) anyway.

I've never had a bad experience with any member here. I've bought a few things and in most cases they've shipped the part before payment arrived. I've also given a few pieces away to guys that needed them.I've also dyno'd a few motors for some members and friends and told them to just bring the fuel. You reap what you sow. Dave

I remember back when my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and out of work, a couple of members here that didn't know us at all came to our aid. one half way around the world. one up in NY. I will never forget them it meant a lot Thank You Again Tom and Adam. not to mention all the friends I have met

it's been so long I don't even remember. I have 2 sets of 360-1s. one was ported by Dwayne porter and were flowing around 317 on the intake side @ 700 lift. not a max port job but had great low lift numbers. ran strong on my stock stroke 360. the other set were max ported from some guy up in Minnesota. they flowed like 335 @ 700, this was on my stroker motor in the arrow. both very mild combo's the stroker made about 100hp more.

The reason I was asking is I found a set of intake gaskets but they r for the 230 CNC heads. Oval ports.
I was going to ship them to you free so you could buy your 5 dollar AN fitting. Lol

Its not really negativity its just a fact that most of our members go above and beyond helping out other members without posting about it on Moparts.

I was strictly referring to the immediate negative comments being made on this thread. I do believe that the vast majority of members here are extremely supportive of other members, racers and any other car enthusiasts out there. Sorry for my own negative remarks.

I've had good and bad results on here. I've given money to guys when they've had hard times. I sent a fixture to a guy so he could fix his block I even paid shipping, never heard from him again.

I've sent parts to numerous guys for nothing. They've said thank you.

I guess you just have to feel it out....

I've given parts and help to people for years. When it came time to build my new race car I received more parts and help than I could have ever imagined. What goes around comes around.

Over all a very good web sight. I should add that I have bought things from members on this sight with good results. Usually from businesses though.

Paying it forward,"racers helping racers"doesn't need to be recognized in a post, it just needs the appreciation and respect of everyone involved. This way of life was the foundation of most all of the civilized world. It is a tradition that many have forgotten and one that everyone needs to bring back.It has been most alive and noticable in our sport. To see it in practice, just attend an event and watch when someone needs help or a part. It's not a philosophy but a way of life. Those who practice it do it for the right reasons not for notority or attention. We are a firm believer in Karma"what goes around comes around".The good things you do in life will reward you tenfold. My late son Curt's legesy is a testimonial and guideline as to how it works. We at BGR are commited to conduct ourselves and carry on this legesy he instilled in us.Anyone who does it will be a better person and find not only personal satisfaction but will have a more rewarding life.
