speakers, or shorted speaker wire will make no sound come out usually a speaker
The speakers are all stock and nothing has been touched so i dont think anything is shorted?
Is there an amplifier somewhere else that may have gone out??

The wiring diagram shows if you have the 4 speaker system there is no external amp, but if you have the 7 speaker system, (3 speakers across the dash), you will have an external amp, located behind the glove box.
Yes, i have the 7 speaker system. So the only way to find out if it is the amp is to buy another used one, correct??

Well, you could unplug one speaker at a time and see if it starts playing again.
Has any work been done on the truck that could have caused a wire to be pinched, chafed or something like that? Might not show up right away.

The diagram also shows a 25A fuse, Fuse 36, for the amp. Maybe look for that too.
I checked and that is wrong though on the diagram. Its a 20AMP at position 21. I have switched it and not luck there either.

Most all the connectors have some type of sliding lock on them. I don't know exactly what connector type is on there, can you post a pic?

It must unplug, there is a bypass harness available to bypass the amp, and it just plugs into the input and output connectors on the amp. (But I've never tried to unplug mine either). Good luck
Picture of 02-05 bypass cable, may help with connectors.

Now i ordered a used Amp and just waiting for it to show up.

So as an update, i got the remanufactured head unit and amplifier. I installed both and still no workie. So then i bit the bullet and took the truck to a very reputable shop that does all our audio work. He worked on it for a few hours today and tested all the speakers and said they all are fine but still no sound out of the speakers. He gave me the truck back and said i should send the head unit and amp back as maybe they both are bad?? BTW, I have the seven speaker Infinity system and they are all working fine. I'm ready to bang me head on the wall.

Do you have any old stereo laying around, you could power up for a temporary test? It might be good to have any old speaker to test the old stereo, before going ahead with this test. You could power it up from some 12v circuit in the truck, or a battery charger.According to the Service Manual Wiring diagram, from the head If you do, you can either pull the head unit, or get at the input wiring to the amp, whichever is easiest. unit to the amp, the wires for the left rear speaker is DG/DB(+), and DG/OR(-), or right rear speaker is GY/OR(-), and GY/DB(+). Take any of the speaker outputs from this old stereo and wire them, (touch them), to either pair of these wires going into the amp. If you get sound, then it points to a bad head unit, if you don't get sound, then at the least the amp is either bad, or not getting power. Check the power wires coming into the amp. It looks like there are 1 or 2 YL/RD wires feeding 12v to the amp, and make sure the black wires are good grounds with an ohm meter.
If you don't get sound, you can go one step further, bypass the amp by connecting the old stereo speaker output to either pair of the amp speaker outputs, Left Front Door DG/LB(-), Left Front Door DG/YL(+), or Right Front Door GY/YL(+), Right Front Door GY/LB(-). If the old stereo works you should get sound from whatever speaker you connect to. If this doesn't make sense, please feel free to email me at btaylor_79@verizon.net.
Good Luck.
