Did those ads mention numbers at all? What I've read so far, has been pretty much limited to the story that Mopar Collector Guide did, and that said 40 cars were 318 Barracudas, and 8 were the gran coupes with 383 2bbl motors.
mines one of the 383 gran coupes, and a fellow in Kentucky also has a 383 gran coupe that was almost next to mine on the assembly line.
I haven't seen the MCG article in years, but I recall some things that didn't jibe, like they said the cars' tops were painted after the factory produced them? For some reason that's what I remember, but that doesn't make sense at all as the factory could have produced that combination.
Whatever the case, I think the info from the magazine could use an update because that was around 20 years ago and the knowledge base is so much better now than it was back then.
I don't recall what Barracuda models they were, whether they were one model or a variety of models, but I don't recall any 'Cuda.

About 25 years ago, I did some trading for a 1971 Cuda 440-6 car and the parts car that came with it was a 1971 Cuda ..340 automatic car, white with a painted orange room with the chrome trim that vinyl tops have and the interior was Black with orange buckets... had a rally dash and a shaker hood and yes it was factory... I don't think I have a picture or broadcast sheet , but I may still have a fender tag..I will look .. and if I find it I will post a pic.
I'm guessing that if you have the fender tag,it remained a parts car!Would that have been considered a parts car in today's market or a restoration candidate? RT

My first car was a 1970 Barracuda, 383 super commando, 727, bench seat, a/c, power steering, manual brakes, 3.91 sure grip, had the hemi transmission cooler on it. Car was B5 with a white painted top
A lady worked at the dealership and she wanted something "sporty" the husband said they needed something to pull the pop up camper. So she ordered the car.

He sold it, new owner took it to GYC
Thanks Scott. Should a an interesting build. It is amazing to me to see the cars that GYC is getting. It must be the fact of them being on TV. I know there has to be other more qualified mopar restoration shops in the country to do high level restorations, but each to his own I guess. Matt

Here's one of the rarer two-tone combos out there, just like the above - two contrasting colors.
Diego NT, that green Cuda is the twin to one that was sold at 63436 ...340, auto, column.
We sold it to a guy from a nearby town, he kept it for several years until the rust started getting pretty apparent (didn't take long on 70-74 cars in Vermont) and traded it back in for I THINK a 75-76 W150.
My dad, dealer principle,
had ordered the same color combo on a 68 VIP 2dr, which was my first NEW car. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)
It takes gasoline to interest me.
