Quite some time back I think Mopar Muscle did a project 64 330 Dodge. If I remember correctly they replaced the front and rear bumpers with ones from Larry at Sled City. They knocked 60# off the front bumper alone. Does anyone know what the factory rear bumper weighs? Thanks!! Ted

I know the 64 Plymouth.I'd bet the rear ones are close, 25 lbs. The Dodge front is way heavier than the Plymouth which is 23 lbs. All the Plymouth brackets together weigh 26 lbs. Again I'll bet the Dodge front is heavier. The carbon fiber brackets shaved 23.5 lbs from mine.

Car is 3340 lbs with me (190). My friend made the brackets. We laid the carbon over the stock brackets for the shape. Then trimmed the edges. He's a pretty good plastics guy. They are plenty stiff as I still have steel bumpers. There's an easy 300lbs + lurking in mine with glass bumpers, deck lid, remove one battery, Light wheels, and a aluminum block. But I like my wheels, chrome bumpers and the look of steel body panels. The block is tempting though. Maybe If I can get some more wins this year. It would run pretty good removing 300 lbs.

If my memory is correct we lost just shy of 100 lbs changing over the front and rear bumpers to glass and utilizing 1/8 thick aluminum for brackets.
My 64 Dodge Polara 500 started out weighing 4200 lbs (with me 225) about 6 years ago. It lost 115 lbs just removing the bucket seats and center console.
Current weight is 3550lbs (with me, now 235), bumpers and hood are glass, aluminum bumper brackets, lexan windshield and side windows. Chrome moly ladder bar set up, 10 point chrome moly cage with additional structure bars including funny car head restraint. KB block running a Dana, under the dash is gutted too. I know I could remove more weight by cutting but I like it being all steel with the chrome trim

I just weighed my old set of 64 bumbers on a bathroom scale. Rear-26.5 and front-38. Not sure how accurate the scale is but seems pretty close. I run aluminum front brackets now and saved a bunch but dont have stock ones here to weigh

MoparFish is correct of course. In my records when I was helping a past acquaintance with his 64' Dodge Polara, the front bumper weighed 37 Lbs exact.
Heavy mother since the 65' fronts weigh in the area of 25-6 Lbs.

Me? It was ThumperDart who broke open the Freedom of information act with his Real world weight loss atlas. LOL.
I'm just an innocent byslender.
I have to now make magnetic signs that read: "Slender Fender" please keep off. I love my real world steel parts.

I used to be an early B body guy because I graduated from high school in 1964 and in 1997 I found and bought a fairly nice '64 Polara. I showed it off to my high school chums at the reunion...and was ignored ...I proceeded to pound money into the car making it a nice cruiser. Fresh 440, a fresh '65 spec 727, Dana 60, American wheels, etc. Drove it to Reno for "Hot August Nights" 2 years in a row and it became a "garage queen" cause I wanted to race and I would have to undo all that I had done to make it a cruiser. Sold it in 2010 to a man from Chicago and he loves it. So yes there is a soft spot in my heart for early Bs

One of my earliest memories was the tail lights of a 64 Dodge peeking out of my Great Grandparents garage. Never forgot and knew Id end up with one someday.

How could I no be? My Dad was a stylist at Chrysler. His first designs were the "fratzog" Dodge emblem, Front end and tail lights on the 63 Plymouth and on to the 64 Plymouth. I'm very proud of his early B Body designs.

Probably some of the most beautiful time transcending designs.
Glad those 63's 64's 65's made the cut.
The 62's have grown on me for sure.
A family member of mine was one of the engineers involved behind the Birds and Daytona testing in the wind tunnels.
