Thanks for detailed info dafixar, I appreciate it. That is a working machine you have there and beautiful to boot. Do you know what the crank centerline height is in your car? Mine is too high I think now at 11.5 inches. I may go to a dry sump to get it in the 9.5 range,

Hey Alguire, how far were you able to spread the tappets? I went to 2 inch centers with jesel ts splayed tappets that are .160 offset in each direction for a total pushrod spacing of 2.32. The plan is to dyno and while it's on the pump keep opening the port up till it stops picking up. That hook wall for pushrod clearance hopefully will be straight when I'm done.

Our crank centerline was 9 7/8" we raise car 3 turns (.300)now a little under 10 1/4" higher at our track because our return road has a bump that our front end scraps. Front of car was at 3".
Front spring are 225#, pinion angle 1.0,front shocks are 1 turn off tight, I'll have to recheck rear shock setting, rear steer 1/16",anti roll hanging -1/2 flat short, front frame height 3" / rear height 5" at 4-link, 6 psi in tires, set wheelie bar at 5" to 5 1/2" depending on track. Going to a single wheelie bar took off 11# off rear, battery weight is 9.2# also.

Maybe you can use some of the info good luck.

How much timing do you run and what compression & cu. in.?

For oil pan ours is a Charley's from Indy fits good with diaper, could send pic's.

Thanks dafixar, for sure the info is a big help. The motor is a 588 conventional 426 based hemi. 14:1 compression 288/306 on a 114 with a .525 lobe, and 1.7 1.6 rockers. One E3 nozzle fogger. 34 timing to start, then pulling 10 for the 250 shot. I'll go further as and if the car goes straight. I never really intended to use this motor, but when I sold one of my cars the guy bought the 654 na millennium hemi I had put in, then the second hemi I put someone else bought, so now I'm on the third engine, and switching to the predator over the winter. I've never kept the car together long enough to sort it out. I'm going testing next week with WJ to sort it out. I'll get after it when I get the predator in it.

I've been trying to make it work without rear steer, but I think I'll have to go to it. Are you long on the driver side the 1/16?

The pan I run now is an olsen dragster pan., I may go to the dailey dry system to sort it out and get the crank lower, or just order a new RJ car and let them worry with it lol. Getting tired of my knuckles hurting from ripping the car apart over and over.

Ours is a 2011 RJ Car we bought from original owner with less than 100 passes as a roller. Extremely nice car when built. We just need more power to make it work right.

Your current AF "13.25/13.75 on O-2 sensors" is leaner than your target "12.5/12.75 AF" not richer.

Higher AF number = leaner
Lower AF number = richer

The nitrous engines I own and tune seem to like around a 12.8:1 AF ratio. Your results may vary.

Maybe I was unclear but when someone asked it 12.5/12.75 was richer my replay was yes it is compared to what the OP posted for current numbers.

Curious is you are only running 2 O2's, one in each collector or 8 O2's?

That .046 jet tune you list that you have in your fogger.......is nowhere near a 600hp tune. Those jets simply won't pass enough nitrous to make that kind of power.

Cam is all wrong in my opinion as well for a lot of spray

Open for any suggestions
This what we have been running and working with up to now.
Any help to improve it I will do.

e-mail or can I call

Thanks Monte

Offsetting the rockers makes room to make the ports as big as they need to be, which seem to be a problem with big inch motors. With tool steel rockers we can offset, and move the port wall another .175.

When, if ever finished it'll go in my RJ stratus, and I think 1300 should be doable, but only time will tell.

Trouble is, there's no real reason to be doing it. There's no class where that head would be competitive against Ford, or Chevy. Just something to try.

was down at KB today checking on my block...your block looks done, just needs the sleves and main cap installed, tom Black was working on It when I was there

Question Darren.............With the bore space limit on the Mopar, we KNOW, even if the Predator head was just as good as a good GM 4.840 head(which it's not) just the fact that you had to put it on a 4.560 bore versus a 4.600 or bigger, you are already down power out of the box.

In my own dealings with 4.840 GM stuff, much over a 632 is a waste, because a 4.840 motor can only have so big a bore and the heads only move so much air, so the inches don't seem to help much...........So the question is.......why make the Predator motor so big?

Mostly because it's all I can do with it. Not much left in the head, and I don't like caring for high rpm motors. The deck is + .5 and I'll run a ,125 gasket keeping the skirts in the bore. The torque will go up and the heads on this next one are better by more the 40cfm in the mids so it should still help going bigger. Also I'm going to have 2 direct port kits on it and maybe plates for the third system. I'm thinking what it can't draw na, I can ram down it with spray.

I would be very happy to hear from you what type systems would be most effective on this one, if you don't mind.

Forget the plates. On a tunnel ram, with a lot of nitrous, I think plates are an extraordinarily BAD idea. You need 3 guns, put three port kits on it.

As you know, the more nitrous you spray, the more air you displace in the intake and actual air flow goes down.

My suggestion would be go EFI as well. I am working on a new 3 stage dry nozzle that makes the plumbing very clean for something with 3 guns in a single nozzle

So, one big nozzle that holds 3 separate n/jets? Is this a future NOS product?

It will at least be a Monte Smith Performance product

No gear or belt drive for cam.
What is the distributor being ran off, looks like stock cover with belt hanging in front.

Doesn't appear to be finished. Imagine the motor is just in there as is, to have headers built and plumbing sorted out
