I'd bet the speedway part is a reboxed afco

I would bet your wrong as the salesman at speedway that I bought my Afco's from said the speedway were China manufactured. I would bet they reversed engineered the part from a quality American piece. Sorry I try to support American manufactures when I can, they are getting scarce nowadays.

Question, are these considered race only, or do they work for a street car? I heard they are noisy.

Can't hear them over my exhaust on the street in my car.

Here's a pic of what we did on Dizusters 62 Savoy. Depending on which rate spring was on it made a difference in how far the eye bolt traveled in the slider slot. The best advise is to make sure the eye bolt will not contact the front off the slot. With the axle hanging loose allow at least 1/2" forward for additional spring flex.

1st one's I seen where 20+ years ago and were an AFCO part. They were used on dirt cars for better lateral stability than shackles. Some were installed on the bottom of a threaded rod similar to a weight jack which made them also adjustable in height like a shackle. Dunno who copied who...

I found that out today when I called speedway today.I was told the Afco was better quality, which leads me to believe that we have an off shore knockouff.

Are they Calvert springs? I had the same problem, both of the supplied aluminum bushings were very sloppy in the spring eye so I made new bushings.

Same issue here, new Calvert springs but cheaper Speedway sliders. Bushing measures .950 not the 1 inch it should be. This confirms that the Afco and Speedway are probably the same piece. Dont bash, just a guess. I plan on making new bushings as well that are a true 1 inch to fit nice in the spring eye.

Calvert has the right bushings for your springs, call them. If I was thinking I would have said order sliders from them as they have them with the right bushings for mopars.

We (Calvert) also have a set of sliders, that are made to fit our Split Mono springs, they are slightly different than the AFCO's/Speedways, the slot in ours is pointed downward towards the front to help the suspension even moreso.
They are priced at $189 a set plus shipping.

Exactly like the speedway parts. Though we didn't make new spring bushings they seem to work well. New bushings are on the list.

So we have come to the conclusion that when they reverse engineered the Afco slider in China they copied the size of the bushing too.
