I just now realized he is building a 73 Dart, I would just get the right brake kit. As everyone else has mentioned you would have to basically convert the whole damn front end over to the older, crappier, 72 and down stuff.

If he already has the wrong spindles, just get disc spindles and a different brake setup. That way he doesn't have to a)change all ball joints b) change upper control arms c) figure out which swaybar will work on top of all that. If it is a drag car then heck yeah go with the 72 and down stuff, its all lighter stuff.

That's the problem with the Willwood systems. They base most everything off of the stock 66-72 are drum spindle or 70-72 disk spindle.
That was fine 20 years ago when people were starting to convert cars from drum brakes. And drag racers were looking for better stopping and lightweight alternative to drums.
Things have changed in the last 20 years. Lots and lots have upgraded to the 73-76 A-body or F-body spindle swap for street use. Now those people want higher performance brakes and Willwood doesn't offer kits for them. There's even drag racers that converted to mid 70's factory disk swaps that don't have a Willwood upgrade offering. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/image_294343.gif)

And that's why it's a good thing that guys like me have a tough time throwing things away, even if we'll never use them. 4 sets of drum brake knuckles sitting here... ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif)

I have some 72-earlier B-body knuckles too. But bummer to me is the smaller inner bearings.

Wilwood does have a kit for the 73+ disc spindles.

Ok. Should have clarified. No 13" or larger rotors and/or No 6 piston or high performance caliper kits. Those are based off the 72 down B/E-body smaller bearing drum knuckles

http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/BrakeKi...&option=AllTheir rear kits are available with larger rotors but all I could find for the front was a kit with 11" rotors. Magnumforce offers Wilwood kits for their drop spindles that are larger then 11". I'll have to do some more research before ordering anything.
