probably so if you buy it new and built ready to install. if you do most of the work way less. i'll take a built 9" over a dana any day and will handle more power. you can't brace the tubes on a dana
You can buy empty S-60 housings too.
so, you can buy a junk yard 9" housing for $50 if you look around you may even find one with disc brakes. narrow it back brace you are ready. axles are a wash. you can find used 9" chunks all over the place cheap.
Bottom line, you run what you want and everyone else will too.
so you didn't like the truth, thats ok, no one told you to run it. anybody that would put a dana in a 1200hp drag car ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh2.gif)

The truth, I don't think so. It's like everything else you post on, there has to be some BS drama somewhere.

My Dana 60 is perfect for what I'm doing with it, it's not right for ALL applications, but it's right for mine. If you spend enough money on a 9" it's great rear. I'm just a nut swinger that thinks the 9" is the only rear for all applications.
BTW the question was S-60 or M-60, no mention of a 9".

well hopefully he doesn't waste his money going that route, if he does he will be doing it again sometime soon.

Listen I love my Dana, always have always will ! Through the years we have thrown way more then 1200 hp at them with no problem at all ! I don't hate the 9in either ! They are a good rear but money wise it will take more no matter what you do with the 9 ! The op asked which 60 ! Not which 9in ! That's all I'm saying ! Super stock runs 9s so they can swap gears let's face it they do it more than the average racer ! I set my car up and run it the way I built it ! I'm not chasing et I want to go rounds and do so fine with the s-60 ! We have a Dana in a mudstang that it bottle feed over 1200 hp and is still living ! I don't know why people sell the Dana short !
thats not true at all. I asked the crew you seen working on the ss/ah car. they said they got tired of changing gears every 2 or 3 passes.
